Consumer Package Manufacturing Company is currently seeking a Process Engineer to support conventional Lithographic and Flexographic printing processes in the Fulton, New York facility. Position requires close collaboration with process owners, press operators,maintenance and production team members. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To sustain and lead continuous improvement of lithographic and flexographic print production processes from pre-press through paperboard conversion
To improve manufacturing efficiencies (rate, yield, uptime, quality) inside plant and reduce operations costs
To define process operating conditions and procedures which maximize quality, rate, yield and uptime of production printing processes
To conduct process capability studies as necessary to define process stability and capability
To establish work plans necessary to accomplish goals, track and report progress in comparison to plans
To insure process control systems are maintained and calibrated to specifications.
To start-up new equipment and develop associated process settings, documentation at the time of installation or upgrades
To prepare procedures and train employees for proper operation of process equipment
To identify and implement new or improved methods of manufacturing to improve profitability
To work with quality department in addressing process issues that impact performance of products in our customer's plants
To communicate with process engineers in other manufacturing plants, sharing combined knowledge
Other duties as assigned
BS / MS in an engineering discipline (paper-print science, engineering mgmt., chemical, manufacturing, material science).
Minimum of 3 years of prior relevant working experience
Process expertise in lithography, flexography, production printing, including a track record of continuous process improvement.
Proven history of learning new processes and becoming a technical expert.
Experience with SPC implementation (process limits, continuous monitoring and improvement).
Ability to lead cross functional teams to solve cross disciplinary problems.
Strong sense of initiative combined with enthusiasm for tackling challenges and seeing them through to completion.
Self-starter capable of working independently with minimal supervision
Knowledge of computer software, such as; Microsoft Word and Excel, AutoCAD, and other software as required.
Ability to coordinate various activities simultaneously.
Ability to communicate with co-workers, vendors, customers, and business contacts in a courteous and professional manner.
Availability to travel as needed.
