Formosa Plastics is a privately held company headquartered in Livingston, New Jersey. Our core business, producing plastic resins and petrochemicals, takes place at three wholly-owned chemical manufacturing subsidiaries located in Delaware City, Delaware, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Point Comfort, Texas.

I. POSITION OBJECTIVE

This petrochemical industry process engineering position exists in order to optimize the utilization of physical assets and technology resources to manufacture the highest quality products in the most efficient and effective manner, reduce costs, and increase operating profit. The process engineer increases productivity and adds value by integrating plant assets, personnel, technology, energy, MIS, effective maintenance, instrumentation, production, raw material handling, and material flow processes while sustaining a safe and healthful working environment that meets environmental, health and safety regulatory and Company requirements.

II. MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

Project Management: Study the process and look for areas of improvement that will help the unit achieve Best Industry Practices and correct problem areas. Perform Process improvement through MOC or B-1.

PSM: Support Unit PSM Compliance through proper use of MOC process and involvement in PHA and LOPA.

Lead and Facilitate the Fulfillment of Product Delivery and Commitments: By meeting the needs of each sales channel and customer.

Anticipate needs, work as a problem solver to eliminate blockages, and enhance the consistent delivery of quality products that exceed customer expectations. Manage, solve, and/or recommend a resolution to discrepancies, deviations, abnormalities, customer complaints, quality, and non-quality related issues.

Initiate Action and as the Critical Liaison: Coordinate with multiple internal departments, cross-functional representatives, and key external contacts/decision makers on various decision-making processes.

Manage, Analyze, Integrate, and Administer Solutions to Improve Efficiency: Gather, compile, analyze, report, and make recommendations with critical impact on sales, marketing, production planning, credit, quality, logistics, and customer service. Comply with company policy/procedures to streamline day-to-day processes, workflow, and related practices.

Perform Short-Term Strategic Planning Analysis: Make recommendations in these areas: market trends, sales forecast and sales targets, production targets, new product development, and potential new customers.

THM: Promote cleanliness and order through the implementation of the Total Housekeeping Maintenance Program.

Emphasize Nothing Touch Ground program and No Visual Pollution program. Maintain the plant in like new condition.

III. QUALIFICATIONS

  • No prior experience is required but 1 ~ 2 experience in a petrochemical or refinery environment is preferred.
  • B.S. Degree Chemical engineering; other related engineering disciplines are considered
