Process Engineer

Wolseley Industrial Group

  • Supply Chain Services has a position open for a Process Engineer

  • Improvement Specialist to support our customer Mallinckrodt, with locations in St. Louis MO, Raleigh NC, and Hobart NY.

This position will have oversight and achievement expectations for customer cost savings goals and commitments. The ideal candidate will have experience with controls, mechanical engineering, design, or maintenance repair. The position will be based in St. Louis MO or Raleigh NC.


  • Identify critical opportunities within assigned scope of work

  • Manage improvement project and activities, from conception through conclusion

  • Align with organization the objectives and resources needed to drive the improvement plan

  • Establish specific success criteria, timelines, actions, and metrics for the improvement plan

  • Lead cross functional teams to implement solutions using Problem Solving techniques

  • Track and measure results from projects

  • Track and report cost savings project status

  • Partner directly with Operations Department Leaders, with Engineering Leaders, and with the Maintenance group

  • Work with other facilities within scope to share and reapply ideas and increase technical efficiency

  • Report directly to the Accounts Manager


  • Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science or other related field

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, medical device manufacturing or another FDA or FAA regulated field. Key areas are product development, supply chain management, manufacturing science and technology, sterilization, process validation, and/or process engineering.

  • Familiarization with GMP (Good Manufacturing Process) or FAA QAS (FAA Quality Assurance System).

  • Time management skills to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, especially mechanical, chemical, and logistical

  • Strong Office365 skills

  • Excel, Word and Project.

Travel Expectations:

  • Domestic travel 25%

The Process Engineer, Integrated Performance Solutions responsibility is to manage the speed of automation delivery. They work with the Automation Engineers to determine if there are any roadblocks to implementation and through relationship building work with various team members and the COE to ensure the test and production robots have the correct access management, ensure each automation has the appropriate documentation and metrics to evaluate performance, they also ensure timely follow up in regard to documentation of the realization of value. This coworker engages directly with the departments to ensure they are supported in their automation journey to include ensuring the processes are documented appropriately and the automation configuration process is using prescribed best practices. This role works with the Account Consultants to ensure training is updated appropriately for the optimal training experience. This coworker must also work with the Automation Engineers to alleviate any roadblocks regarding security, account management (user access management) and architecture are dealt with in a timely fashion. This position must have a deep-level understanding of IT software, organizational policies, and comprehend new methods of thinking to address workflow and business needs, driving efficiency, business process excellence and expense reduction throughout Mercy. To accomplish this goal, the Process Engineer, Integrated Performance Solutions will work with key stakeholders within the department and the Automation Consultants to ensure effective deployment of RPA tools. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards. * Responsible for the speed of automation delivery. * Must be able to deal with multiple competing priorities and act with a sense of urgency to accomplish implementations on time and within budget. * Responsible for working with various automation specialists on ensuring valid and accurate data is noted in the automation documentation prior. * Responsible for communicating with the Transformation Lead to ensure any new projects/automations are communicated to the appropriate parties. * Works directly with IT audit in ensuring controls are in place prior to deployment of automation activities in production. * Works with the Account Consultants to ensure all governance activities are updated in the required templates and performs an audit prior to production go live. * Responsible for the control aspect of the automation effort. Project/Portfolio Management - Utilize project management principles to manage projects and resources with various, and often conflicting priorities, through well executed communication, timely progress updates and appropriate stakeholder management, which includes: * Understanding and appropriately utilizing project management to coordinate effective resource allocation and deployment, facilitate project task visibility and complete projects in a timely fashion with a high-level customer satisfaction. * Managing leadership and customer expectations through the establishment of regular and informative communications to ensure project success and agreed upon outcomes. Communication/Customer Service - Utilize exceptional customer service skills to work with business leaders and process owners to ensure application/tools are being optimally used and are meeting the needs of an ever-changing landscape; which includes: * Manage customers in a professional manner and remaining ever cognizant of the voice of the customer. * Assisting operations in identifying potential tool gaps or areas for improvement, * Develop mutually agreed upon enterprise data standards and data management processes. Tier 3 Application Support - Works to ensure all appropriate controls are in place to reduce roadblocks regarding automation activity deployment. * Builds control guidelines that ensure tools are being utilities and managed in accordance to prescribed and approved measures.
