The Production Engineer is a key member of the site Process Engineering Department as well as a critical member of Business Teams for assigned units. The process engineering team is dedicated to be the technical leaders that drive the highest value solution for our partners. You will be joining a technical community of 30+ chemical engineers dedicated to the troubleshooting, optimization, and design improvement of the refinery units.

A Day in the Life Typically Includes:

  • Developing value creation ideas and projects economic analysis for assigned units and technologies

  • Leading unit health metrics, troubleshooting, and optimization

  • Utilizing unit monitoring tools and programs

  • Owning operating envelope program

  • Analyzing HX cleaning monitoring and performance

  • Unit troubleshooting support

  • Validating LP vectors and LP model assumptions

  • Leading the chemical and catalyst performance and process costs

  • Owning unit catalyst plan and catalyst health

  • Owning the chemical additive selection

  • Participating in turnaround program technical support and technical scoping

  • Directing and assisting Operations for design of experiments and process guidelines

  • Owning Solomon data and gap analysis

  • Contributing to process safety and environmental performance through Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) programs, Management of Changes (MOC), investigations team member or leader

What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of refining or chemical plant process engineering experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET (or similar) accredited program

  • An entrepreneurial spirit with a drive to create value

  • Valid Driver's license

What Will Put You Ahead?

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science or higher in Chemical Engineering

  • 5+ years of refinery or chemical plant experience

  • Previous experience with Hydroprocessing, SRU, FCCU, Alky, Crude, Extraction, or Reformer (CCR)

  • Process modeling simulation with Aspen HYSYS or KBC Petrosim

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams

A Day in the Life Typically Includes: * Building and expanding technical network internally and externally to the company * Developing value creation ideas and projects economic analysis for assigned units and technologies * Monitoring long-term unit performance against industry benchmarks * Supporting building unit monitoring toolkit for Utilities (Cooling Water, Wastewater, Fuel Gas and Flares) and Sulfur Recovery Unit (SRU) * Auditing unit performance reports and long-term calculations * Reviewing and supporting benchmark studies (Solomon, PTAI studies) * Ensuring technical basis of projects meets business objectives * Mentoring and supporting Production Engineers during unit troubleshooting, unit monitoring, PHAs, critical procedures, monthly Business Review meetings. * Owning the Process Engineer modeling programs * Building out the technology loop model using different software such as HYSYS to drive economic decision making in unit operations. * Supporting other Physics-based modeling programs. * Providing turnaround program technical support and technical scoping as needed * Supporting high profile unit troubleshooting as needed * Contributing to process safety and environmental performance through Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) programs, Management of Changes (MOC), investigations team member or leader * Directing and assisting Operations for design of experiments and process guidelines What You Will Need: Basic Qualifications: * An entrepreneurial spirit with a drive to create value * Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field from an ABET (or similar) accredited program * Minimum of five (5) years of refining or chemical plant process engineering experience with previous experience with Utilities (Cooling water and wastewater) and/or Sulfur Recovery Unit (SRU) * Valid Driver's License What Will Put You Ahead?
