MITER Brands is a residential window and door manufacturer that provides a leading portfolio of window and door brands for the new construction and replacement segments. MITER Brands, also known as Milgard, MI Windows & Doors and PGTI is one of the nation's largest suppliers of vinyl windows and patio doors, with plants across the country. We are looking for a Process Engineer (Engineer II) for our Tacoma, WA location.

Summary
The Manufacturing Process Engineer position is responsible for defining manufacturing processes, product specifications and work instructions to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and cost requirements are met.
This position troubleshoots problems with production and takes corrective action. The process engineer also researches the purchase of equipment or upgrades to existing equipment.
Responsibilities
Evaluate, implement, and monitor processes controls through functional systems for the manufacture of Extruded Vinyl Window Frame and Sash Profiles.
Create, edit, and maintain product and process documentation.
Identify critical variables and establish controls to promote process repeatability and consistent product quality.
Identify, design, and create manufacturing concepts that will control the quality of the product.
Monitor and maintain process controls.
Ensure sound engineering and validation principles are applied to process design.
Develop processes to be trouble free and ensure success every time (zero defects).
Assist with equipment selection and drive implementation of new equipment.
Manage projects to ensure on-time and on budget implementation.
Monitor and improve the safety, efficiency, and throughput of manufacturing processes through observations and measurements as well as by collecting and interpreting data from other technical and operating personnel.
Work closely with other specialists (including scientists) for quality control of raw materials.
Assume responsibility for safety and environmental issues and ongoing performance of processes.
Define, characterize, and lead the implementation of new processes.
Maintain and update bill of materials.
Perform process capabilities studies and work with outside engineering team to accurately represent vinyl extrusion capabilities through drawing change and ECN process.
Evaluate quality control processes and make recommendations for improvements in quality control.
Analyze production processes, schedules, methods, and other data and then provide management with reports containing the data and statistics to enable management to better understand future requirements needed for the manufacturing process.
Ensure that the company's manufacturing processes are compliant with all government laws and regulations.
Review and calculate labor, material, and other production costs along with reviewing schedules and future production requirements to assist management in decision making.
Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency.
Coordinate equipment maintenance and repair services and make sure that manufacturer's procedures and instructions are followed to keep production equipment operational.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
3-5 years' experience in Process Engineering role(s)
Advanced Quality Planning (Statistical Process Controls, Failure Mode & Effects Analysis, Design of Experiments, Production Part Approval Process, and Verification & Validation) experience
Demonstrated Problem Solving and Analysis capabilities
Project Management experience
SolidWorks and AutoCAD proficiency
Preferred qualifications
Lean Six-Sigma Training
5-7 years' experience in Process Engineering
Vinyl Extrusion or continuous manufacturing experience
