JOB TITLE: Process Engineer

We are seeking a Process Engineer (Chemical Applications). Primary activities include using engineering experience and knowledge to design evaporation and separation systems for customer applications based on analysis of pilot test results and customer data. Also responsible for system laboratory tests, pilot tests, costing, proposals, field service and start-ups.
Duties and

o Perform Test Center demonstrations and laboratory evaluations, as a precursor to sales, on client material, incorporating technology and experience.
o Analyze the test data and write reports for the Test and Preliminary Evaluation.
o Design evaporation and separation systems for specific product applications based on analysis of the test results and customer data along with know how and experience to maximize competitive advantage.
o Estimate cost of proposed evaporation systems and prepare proposals. Writing proposals including costing jobs and maintaining pricing levels in a way that will maximize competitiveness and profit margins.
o Travel to customer sites to discuss potential applications, help set strategy, and present seminars covering technologies. Domestic and international travel for start-ups of leased and purchased equipment.
o Inspect equipment during and after fabrication and assembly to ensure they meet the clients requirements and expectations. Communicate any deficiencies to the appropriate persons.
o All other duties that may be necessary from time to time outside the normal scope of your description that will contribute toward the company meeting its goals and objectives.

B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering
5 to 20 years of chemical or process engineering experience
Proficient in heat transfer and fluid mechanics
Familiar with instrumentation and controls
Proficient in reading engineering drawings (PFDs, PIDs, GAs, etc.)
Strong written and communication skills including oral presentation skills
Desirable Process Simulation Software (ASPEN), AutoCAD, OSHA & EPA training, Safety training

Job Description This position will assist the site Improvement Facilitators, Routine Facilitators, department superintendents, and plant management in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of all improvement aspects within their area of responsibility. The major role of this job is to focus on continuous improvement and integration of improvement principles, technical and engineering principles, identifying best practices, consistent application of the GBS, and act as a change agent to help achieve a higher level of results within the assigned location by utilizing and implementing improvement processes. This position serves in a material manufacturing processes advisory capacity with no direct reports. Serves as a coach to all production and maintenance employees, and plant management. Primary responsibility and accountability rests with higher levels of supervision. Duties & Responsibilities The major role of this job is to identify opportunities for improvement in processes, products, and production within the area of responsibility. These duties will include the development and implementation of new as well as adjusting existing standards, structures, systems, and equipment. This position is responsible to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of all improvement aspects within their area of responsibility. Incumbent will be responsible for reaching improvement through the application of the available methods and tools provided through GBS and improvement principles in conjunction with the use of technical and engineering principles. Responsible for coordinating improvement activities directly with the appropriate Superintendent, Routine Facilitator, and staff within area of responsibility. The Improvement Facilitator will assist location management with the Annual Action Plan and the administration of established policies, procedures, and processes. This job is responsible for CAPEX projects and compiling and analyzing project data. This position will have moderate scope and breadth of responsibility for material manufacturing processes as well as the multitude and complexity of the equipment utilized in the manufacturing process. There is a moderate level of budgetary and CAPEX related expenditures. The incumbent will coach employees on QIS improvement methodologies. The primarily responsibility for this job is the oversight, contribution to, and support of GBS processes, 5S initiatives, failure analysis, results management, QIS, 6 Sigma and other process improvement methodologies. The incumbent will be responsible for the oversight, contribution to, and support of all the safety activities. The incumbent must possess good communication skills, have the ability to articulate ideas, give feedback, resolve conflicts, and point out areas where improvement is needed, as well as the ability to develop a positive relationship with employees in order to develop credibility. The Individual Qualifications for this position include a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Material Science or Metallurgical Engineering, or other related field. Requires 5 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment with exposure to standardization and production quality methods in a leadership role. Incumbent must have an advanced working knowledge of steel manufacturing methods and techniques involving the use of heavy mill machinery and related equipment. Previous qualifying experience in scrap processing, melting, casting, rolling, maintenance, finishing, shipping/warehouse operations, and/or supervisory/facilitation is a must.
