Job Overview:

The Process Engineer (Injection Molding Technology) is in charge of managing the product interface with product development. They are responsible for process design and implementation and expected to contribute to the Engineering Change Management process and support continuous improvement and production. They are an important asset to the team.

Priamary Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership, support and solutions to manufacturing processes, improve yield and throughput, drive cost reduction activities and improve on part quality.

  • Develop new processes; assess and document new and existing processes.

  • Implement and evaluate changes to existing process designs, improving product quality, productivity and overall equipment efficiency.

  • Define cycle time in line with takt time and standard operations.

  • Utilizes process characterization skills and tools such as Design of Experiments (DOE), PFMEA and participate in manufacturing feasibility and evaluation of product FMEA.

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to process technicians, operators and other molding personnel.

  • Facilitate and support facility and manufacturing safety, environmental, and ergonomics efforts. Release manufacturing process documents.

  • Perform technical troubleshooting and implement problem resolution for existing and new equipment / systems and support process technicians.

  • Perform trial runs on new molds and mold change sampling including all documentation.

  • Validating process development efforts and interaction with part quality.

  • Provide feedback to program engineering for follow-up as necessary. Define investments list and resources needed.

  • Continuously monitor injection molding processes; analyze and eliminate defects.

  • Improves injection molding processes using lean tools and statistical data analysis.

  • Communicating closely with management team members regarding all aspects of process control.

  • Adhering to quality system requirements and a focus on continuous improvement in relationship to our process set-ups and the maintenance team.

  • Capitalize and create according to lessons learned and provide best practices.

  • Interact and communicate closely with program management team members regarding all aspects of process control on new programs.

  • Assist in new equipment identification, procurement, installation qualification, document creation and training.

  • May participate in execution of these and other activities as needed.

Required Skills/Experience/Education:

The ideal candidate will have/possess the following skills/qualifications:

  • A minimum of no less than 5+ years' experience in Process Engineering and core competencies and knowledge in/with Plastic/Injection Molding Technology is required. (Please READ company statement below).

  • Bachelors' degree or equivalent experience in Engineering preferred..

  • Good technical skills on product and process

  • Strong communication skills

  • English required
