We are seeking a Process Engineer to join our Demi Grand team in our Clark, NJ Research facility. This role is responsible for XXXX A few short sentences on what the key objectives are for the team and the role XXXX

As a Process Engineer in our Demi Grand team, your main responsibilities are:

  • Designs processes, executes manufacturing, and evaluation of initial scale-up batches of innovative projects, as well as revised/new formulations, refining procedures based on guidelines from L'Oreal, formulation Laboratories, Process Development and Processing staff.

  • Interfaces with all Research & Innovation (R&I) and Innovation Pilot / Pilot and Plant (OPS) teams responsible for designing, validating, and commercializing formulas for the Beauty industry to define and design processes for revised/new innovative products.

  • Evaluates batches against lab standards, specifications and makes necessary adjustments as required. Completes necessary records for all batches, cleans and maintains equipment after use and maintains the cleanliness of the work area.

  • Analyzes, designs, and executes introduction and implementation of new processing and filling technologies to improve overall Demi Grand Operations-Capex investment projects.

  • Participates in safety evaluations, assessments, and initial start-up training of new equipment.

  • Works with mechanical team to improve the service and preventive maintenance program on all equipment and services in DG.

  • Drives and leads sustainability initiatives within the Demi Grand.

  • Provides technical and project support to other departments within the Demi Grand, as well as outside of Demi Grand, when needed.

  • Supports the processing team in troubleshooting, defining of wining processes, out of spec investigations and technical expertise training/upskilling.

  • Prepares and delivers quarterly reports presenting results to the management and L'Oreal community.

  • Practices good laboratory techniques in compliance with DGO guidelines and laboratory SOP's.

  • Actively participates in safety, quality, and efficiency and other initiatives within department.

  • Recommends improvements in procedures, methodology and techniques.

  • Creates and updates documentation within the department.

  • Performs other duties as required.

To Succeed in this Position, You Have:

  • Bachelors in chemical engineering or chemistry, 0-3 years' experience in cosmetic/personal care or related industry. A master's is a plus.

  • The title for the role will be Process Chemist for non-engineering degrees.

  • Experienced with the operation and cleaning of various types of manufacturing equipment.

  • Basic knowledge of laboratory procedures, familiarity with cGMP and FDA regulations a plus

  • Strong organization skills to handle multiple projects with strict deadlines seeking direct guidance as needed.

  • Must possess ability to work well independently and interact effectively in a team environment.

  • Ability to think creatively to find new and unique solutions to complex problems.

  • Ability to make decisions independently.

  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written skills.

  • An ability to detect and evaluate difference in color and odor a plus.

  • Ability to use and maintain balances, thermometers, and other related laboratory instruments and to prepare samples and complete test procedures.

  • Must be able to lift 35 lbs. (15.9 Kg).

  • Lead meetings and master power point.

  • Must be able to wear respirator.

  • Must be authorized to work in the US.

  • Strong computer skills is a must.

  • Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent, ongoing basis without the need for legal sponsorship now or in the future (required)
