Key Purpose:

  • Continuous Process Analysis & Improvement

  • Troubleshooting and investigating process inefficiencies

  • Lead Process improvement projects

Description of Responsibilities and Objectives:

1.Continuous Process Improvement

  • Utilize data analysis techniques to identify areas for enhancement in production processes, including but not limited to yield optimization, waste reduction, and throughput enhancement

  • Track OEE metrics, identify areas for enhancement, implement strategic adjustments, and measure resulting progress, thereby ensuring a continuous evolution towards optimal operational efficiency and productivity.

  • Champion the implementation and utilization of production data collection software, such as RedZone, ensuring accurate and real-time data capture.

  • Analyze production data to generate actionable insights and recommendations for ongoing process enhancements, focusing on cost-saving opportunities, quality improvements, and safety enhancements.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives, facilitating knowledge sharing and fostering a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.
    2.Troubleshooting

  • Employ root cause analysis methodologies to investigate and resolve process inefficiencies promptly, including equipment malfunctions, production delays, and quality issues.

  • Provide proactive support to maintenance teams in diagnosing and addressing equipment issues to prevent downtime and minimize production disruptions.

  • Investigate quality complaints and issues, conducting thorough analyses to identify underlying causes and contributing factors, and collaborating with relevant stakeholders to develop and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
    3.Project Leadership

  • Take the lead on multiple projects aimed at enhancing operational processes, from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

  • Identify and propose new projects geared towards further process improvements, conducting feasibility studies, cost-benefit analyses, and risk assessments as needed.

  • Effectively manage project timelines and resources, including personnel, equipment, and budget, to ensure successful implementation within established constraints.

  • Provide regular updates and reports on project progress, milestones achieved, and any deviations from the plan, proactively addressing any issues or concerns as they arise.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Food Science, or a related field.

  • Proficient in analytical techniques and problem-solving methodologies, such as statistical process control (SPC), Six Sigma, or lean manufacturing principles.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams to achieve common objectives.

  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and attention to detail, adept at managing competing priorities and deadlines effectively.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite or similar software, with experience in data analysis and visualization tools such as Excel, Minitab, or Tableau.

  • Ability to work in a meat-processing environment, with a thorough understanding of food safety regulations and industry best practices.

Preferred Skills:

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in process improvement, engineering, or operations roles within the food processing industry.

  • Familiarity with regulatory standards such as HACCP, USDA, and FDA, with experience in implementing and maintaining food safety management systems.

  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) principles.

  • Experience with GFSI-certified food safety management systems, such as SQF, BRC, or FSSC 22000.

  • Proficiency in RedZone Software or similar production data collection tools, with experience in system implementation, configuration, and optimization.
