SUMMARY: The Process Engineer's role is to drive and facilitate equipment process improvement across the factory, develop new or improved procedures, and facilitate their adoption by organization members and customers. These changes mainly include equipment changes, but also include process changes, technology implementations, workforce/human resources transformations and company policies. The Process Engineer monitors equipment run-time, and production and quality practices to insure quality standards are maintained. Initiates and leads product improvements and cost reduction efforts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Specific deliverables and responsibilities include:
LEADS AND FACILITATES PROCESS EQUIPMENT CHANGES THROUGHOUT THE ORGANIZATION:
Analyze processes, workflows, and service objectives.
Collaborate with technology and business leaders to identify opportunities for equipment improvement.
Monitor areas where improvements and cost reductions are attainable, and established new procedures to obtain scrap reduction and through put in order to meet customer demands.
Supports change management requirements for deploying new or improved equipment, technologies, standards, practices, policies, and procedures, and follow through with appropriate application.
Specify standards, controls, and measures (metrics).
Oversee development of automated equipment, processes and tools.
Facilitates the deployment of new and changed equipment systems.
Provides procedural instructions and guidance to employees (quality/manufacturing) on technical requirements and standards. Supports the CIP process, Kaizen and the ISO standards. Acts as a facilitator on process engineering areas.
Develops and implements long term improvements while dealing with immediate short-term emergencies.
Ability to organize, plan and implement the quality planning and execution activities to meet or exceed business goals.
Provide support in the execution of Concurrent Product and procedure development methodology tools and techniques to ensure successful quality, cost and timing of new product launches, and current production flows.
Ensure the integration of preventive/predictive measures into site equipment planning, and activity development.
Support in the identification/implementation of continual improvement activities to meet/exceed business performance goals.
Provide support in the identification of opportunities and utilization of appropriate quality improvement tools.
Other duties may be assigned.
Experience in workflow analysis including Process Improvement Assessment.
Must be proficient using Microsoft Office tools, project management software such as Microsoft Project and flow charting software.
Must have collaboration skills as well as excellent written and oral communications skills.
Must be highly self-motivated and self-directed, with excellent judgment and leadership skills.
English: Ability to communicate to all levels of the work force to remove barriers and collaborate with key stakeholders to enable change.
Able to influence others, remove barriers to success, motivate, support and empower others to enable change.
Advanced skills in computer programs including Micro soft word/Excel.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Certification in Six Sigma / Black belt highly desirable.

Education and/or Experience
Three to five years of manufacturing experience in a continuous improvement environment.
Working knowledge of flows, equipment improvement and quality manufacturing.
High School or GED required.
Bachelor Degree in Engineering or related experience of 5 years or more in manufacturing environment where focus is on equipment improvement/engineering management.
