SUMMARY

Process Engineers plays the role of a technical expert in unit processes used in the manufacturing of flexible PCBs. They are the vital link in ensuring that our manufacturing processes are stable, predictable, safe, and deliver output of the highest quality. Additionally, a person in this role analyzes existing processes, identifies improvement areas, and implements solutions to dynamically meet the demands of our customers.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Core team member for product and process risk analysis.

  • Conduct detailed analysis of current manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including applications, quality control, maintenance, and management, to develop and implement process improvements.

  • Design, develop, and implement new processes, equipment, and tools to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and ensure product quality.

  • Utilize process simulation software and other tools to model, optimize, and validate proposed improvements.

  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and training materials.

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Six Sigma projects to drive waste reduction and process optimization.

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise to resolve process-related issues and ensure smooth production operations.

  • Work with Equipment and Facilities teams to ensure processing equipment are maintained and functional.

  • Work with equipment vendors to understand capabilities and adapt to our needs.

  • Act as a training resource for operators in manufacturing.

  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to process engineering and manufacturing.

SALARY INFORMATION:

According to several states' laws, this position's salary range falls between $100,000 and $130,000 annually. However, this salary information is merely a general guideline. When extending an offer, Carlisle Interconnect Technologies considers various factors such as the position's responsibilities, scope of work, candidate's work experience, education/training, essential skills, internal pay equity, and market considerations.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering/sciences with 5+ years of experience or 15+ years of experience working in a technical engineering role.

  • 2+ years' experience manufacturing flexible printed circuits, Integrated Circuit Manufacturing or MEMs.

  • Background in medical, aerospace or defense industries is preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • IPC certifications in standards or design preferred.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.

  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar certification preferred.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • Conversational in any other language is a plus.

JOB SKILLS

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and SharePoint.

  • Knowledge of ERP systems, SAP preferred.

  • Performs activities and develops concepts in area of responsibility that are complex.

  • Participates, recommends, and implements improvement initiatives using experiments and characterizations.

  • Understands the upstream and downstream effects of process variations and overall integration of unit processes.

  • Routinely solves technical problems independently.

  • Manages solutions of more complex problems involving multiple perspectives.

  • Routinely and effectively applies statistics, excellent judgement, and sound logic in decision making.

  • Collaborates with various departments.

  • Communicates effectively to convey standards and procedures.

  • Mentors junior engineering staff members.

  • Reliable and flexible to work additional hours on short notice to complete orders or special projects to meet customer or internal demands.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

As part of their job duties, the employee must sit for lengthy periods while operating a computer. They frequently use their hands to type, handle objects, and communicate verbally. Additionally, they may need to stand, walk, reach, and occasionally lift objects weighing up to twenty (20) pounds. This role requires lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching overhead, reaching at or below shoulder level, and keyboarding. PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • ASTM F-2412-2005, ANSI Z41-1999, or ANSI Z41-1991 rated safety toe shoes in specific areas.

  • Clear ANSI Z87.1 safety-rated glasses in specific areas.

  • Hearing protection in specific locations.

  • Ability to compile with JSA in specific areas.
