Process Development Co-Op - Summer 2019

Position Summary

Amicus Therapeutics is recruiting for a Process and Analytical Development Co-op opportunity located in Cranbury, NJ. A Co-Op in Process and Analytical Development will support lab studies in cell culture, protein purification, analytical methods development and formulation development. A successful student will have strong background in biochemical engineering principles, lab experience with bioprocesses and be willing to learn and work in a team. This will be a six month appointment.

Roles and Responsibilities

The co-op is responsible for:

  • Working with staff scientists in executing bench scale experiments such as cell culture bioreactors, protein purification, or analytical methods

  • Write and/ or review technical reports, documents relating to process development


  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering, biochemistry, biology or related life sciences field is required.

  • Candidates must be enrolled (not necessarily taking classes) in an accredited college/university during the Co-op session.

  • Candidate must be considered a student during the Co-op session (i.e. will not have already graduated college).

  • Candidate must be available to work full-time (40 hours/week) during the co-op session.

  • A minimum G.P.A. of 3.0 is preferred.

  • Candidates must be detail-oriented, highly organized and have the ability to multi-task.

  • Candidates must have the ability to work individually as well as on a team.

  • Candidates need to be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and have strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require future sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g. H1-B status) now or in the future.

  • Students must be able to provide their own transportation to the work site location.
