Become a Process Design Advisor
You will serve as the process expert on our project teams, independently leading process design while applying Lean Management and Design Thinking principles to drive process innovation. Collaborating closely with User Experience Designers and Product Managers, you will also have the opportunity to explore and integrate emerging technologies such as wearables, AR/VR, blockchain, LIDAR, and more into your work.
As a Process Design Advisor
A day in the life
The Process Designer is responsible for designing and optimizing business processes for technology projects. What you will be doing:
Documenting and analyzing existing processes.
Identifying inefficiencies or bottlenecks
Developing net new and improved processes that include new technical solutions to gain efficiencies and improve overall process performance.
Collaborating with various stakeholders to understand process requirements and gather insights.
Our Process
Define Phase: Gather information about the business problem, understand customer and business requirements, and measure performance.
Discovery Phase: Understand current work processes, identify pain points and root causes, define process scope, and create current state process maps.
Design Phase: Collaborate with stakeholders to create future state process maps, identify solutions to root causes, and establish process controls.
Demonstrate Phase:
Prototyping: Provide input on the solution prototype.
Testing: Recommend process fixes, define test cases/scripts, and validate results.
Implementation: Validate that the solution improves the process, ensure process controls, and create final process maps and reports demonstrating benefits and goals achieved.

The essentials
Seven (7) or more years of applicable experience in process design
Four (4) or more years of experience effectively communicating process concepts and design to non-technical stakeholders and developers.
Experience working with multi-functional teams to achieve efficient processes that users want to adopt.
Experience and working knowledge of BPMN and capable of leading process innovation initiatives.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
Experience and proficiency in developing and optimizing complex processes.
Experience and expertise in process mapping, analysis tools, and industry best practices is essential.
Strong communication skills and the ability to challenge the status quo professionally and respectfully.
Strategic and critical thinking skills, strong problem-solving ability, and the ability to process information rapidly and think quickly on one's feet.
The preferred
Experience in Signavio.
Experience working in emerging user technologies like AR/VR, Google Glass, etc.
Experience with electric utility business processes, with emphasis in either Customer Service, Information Technology, Information Security, Grid Technology, or other related business functions.
Thought leadership and experience driving innovation and change.
Experience in outcome-oriented transformation.
Experience and comfortable operating in an Agile development environment, along with making strong judgment calls based on the information, and alternatives available.
Experience and ability to partner and lean on support from internal and external subject matter experts when needed.
Experience introducing new and innovative technologies that enable improved business performance across a variety of functions including client facing business processes and back-office business processes.
Experience using strong negotiation and collaboration skills.
Experience and broad understanding of lean Six Sigma practices, Design Thinking, Project Management, and Organizational Change Management.
You should know
This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs

The primary work location for this position is Rosemead, CA however, the successful candidate may also be asked to work for a period out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.
Position may require up to 5 - 10% traveling between alternate SCE work location sites.
