As the Process Control Specialist, you will support the plant engineering and maintenance functions of the facility and act as a resource lead to the process control specialists of the other Architectural Coatings facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Primary activities include information gathering through internal and external sources, purchasing, planning, and supervision of instrumentation and electrical projects, repairs, troubleshooting and mentorship to other facilities programming and process control issues.

  • Leadership role in safe operation of automated systems in the plant processes through training and development of operators and mechanics.

  • Continuous improvement of the plants automated programming to achieve safety objectives, reduced cycle times and improved efficiency and quality are key responsibilities of this position.

  • Supports plant PLC's, SCADA, Graphical Interface Systems and HMI screens, Robot's and other computers and applications which includes systems upgrades and preventive maintenance and some program writing and program modifications to incorporate process control improvements and other recommendations by plant engineering.

  • Design, assembly, installation and debugging of process control panels as well as updating process control diagrams or other drawings as required.

  • Involved in maintenance and support of main power feed and auxiliary power generation.

  • Supervise maintenance and daily interaction with other departments in the absence of the Plant Engineer / Maintenance Supervisor.

  • Coordination with contractors involving new equipment installations or other plant / equipment upgrades to ensure successful project completion, programing and integration outcomes.

  • Company travel will be required.

Qualifications:

  • Allen-Bradley process control technology experience preferred.

  • Experience with: Microsoft Access, Excel, Auto CAD, SCADA, HMI, LANS and computer networks, mass flow meter programming and troubleshooting, National Electrical Codes, electrical systems, process instrumentation, and computer programming.

  • Proven mechanical aptitude is required to ensure manufacturing equipment and systems operate at a high level of performance.

  • Formal trade/technical school or college training or equivalent required.

  • 5 years of applicable experience is required.

Essential Functions: * Conducts regular inventory counts via cycle and/or physical inventories, records results and discrepancies, and reports findings to appropriate management team member or customer as needed or as necessary. * Researches and resolves inventory discrepancies by taking appropriate steps such as researching any previous and/or current customer claims, conducting cycle counts to identify missing product(s), adjusting inventory quantities as necessary or as appropriate, printing correct labels, and handling and/or disposing of damaged inventory as appropriate. * Updates inventory counts and inventory discrepancies in the appropriate Warehouse Management System (WMS) and/or other various system platforms as necessary in order to maintain efficient inventory flow, including processing any adjustments that are required or needed. * Assists as needed or as requested with special projects, handling various customer-specific requests, or reporting on any operational errors which impact or may impact inventory performance. * Ensures that inventory pick patterns are established by partnering with selectors to complete product slottings in order to meet compliance requirements and to optimize shipping efficiencies. * Performs other inventory-related duties as required or as requested. * In addition to the duties listed above, employees working at a 3PL location must also process any store returns within directed or required timeframe, and communicate any product recall notifications to appropriate management team member and/or customer as necessary. Demonstrated familiarity with the IBM Automated System (AS) 400 system preferred. * Demonstrated ability to identify and solve problems in a fast-paced environment where deadlines and scopes may change regularly while maintaining accuracy.
