Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:Department of Defense Secret Clearance is desired at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for an expereinced Process Control Engineer to support the MK6 and MK 6 MOD 1 Guidance systems at the Integrated Support Facility in Pittsfield MA. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:

  • Develops, implements and maintains methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies

  • Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations

  • Performs detailed analysis of the ability to produce electrical or mechanical subsystems

  • Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards

  • Implements and analyzes manufacturing engineering plans and projects

  • Supports the generation of technical engineering products by using the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle

  • Contributes to the completion of major programs and projects

  • Regular contact with senior levels of internal work groups

  • Works under limited direction

  • Frequent contact with external customers

  • Travel may be required

  • Secret Security clearance is required

  • Provides resolution to a diverse range of complex problems

  • Leads quality initiatives using six sigma methodology to determine extent of non-conformance root cause, and corrective action

  • Documents procedures, process qualifications, work instructions, shop aids, routings, etc.

  • May define and documents equipment calibration requirements

  • Identifies training for production related activities

  • May develop floor layouts
