Element Staffing is recruiting for a Sr. Process Control Engineer for a very large specialty chemical company in Houston, TX. The primary responsibility of the Process Control Engineer is to provide regulatory process control for the different unit operations composing the processes for the manufacture of advanced monomers and polymers.

Additionally, the Process Control Engineer will be responsible for coordinating the maintenance and development of some advanced process control systems, SIL-rated safety systems, and small projects. Experience with Honeywell TDC3000 and other distributed control systems is preferred but not necessary. Duties/Responsibilities/Qualifications:

Collaborate with plant operations and the technical department to optimize process control for advanced monomer and polymer production. Identify and propose control improvements to existing control strategies and propose new and improved strategies, when warranted. Manage, implement, and optimize process control projects.

Lead process control technology initiatives, championing regulatory and advanced control applications to enhance manufacturing costs, reduce emissions, and improve plant safety and operability. Collaborate with the E&I engineering team on process control projects, including DCS system maintenance, hardware installation, and data historian upkeep. Participate in unit troubleshooting, start-up, and incident investigations.

Perform DCS programming, configuration changes, and control loop tuning. Assist with daily I&E work and monitor alarm management. Act as a contact for DCS process and safety interlocks.
