Veolia North America Regeneration Services is seeking a Process Control / E&I Technician for its Fort Hill plant located in North Bend, Ohio. This position reports administratively to and receives daily direction from the Site Maintenance Manager.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Provide technical leadership in and support for the operation, maintenance and continuous improvement of manufacturing instrumentation, analyzers and process control systems/equipment.

Work closely with the Line Leadership, Technical/Manufacturing Resources, operators and mechanics to understand the business, site needs and user needs and priorities (voice of the customer). Provide Instrumentation and Analyzer assistance for the manufacturing area in various technologies ranging from transmitters, control valves, switches, gas detectors, process analyzers, and continuous emissions analyzers. Also, provide assistance with problems associated with the site's Distributed Control System (DCS), and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
3.Ability to Tune process controllers and audit performance of loop's as needed.
4.Knowledge and Understanding of distributive control system architecture.
5.Demonstrated skills to complete work independently (self-motivated) and through influence.
6.Capable of reading and commenting on Process Controls (P&I's, Loop drawings and schematics).
7.Ability to Deal directly with Manufacturers and vendor suppliers of instrumentation equipment.
8.Requires strong communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to effectively communicate including clear delivery, attentive listening and confirmation. This ability must exist in a variety of mediums: verbal, non-verbal and written.
9.Control Systems (have basic knowledge of control theory and control system components)
10. Experience with the use of hand-held instrumentation configurators, such as the Hart Communicator and Honeywell SFC.
11. Maintain/develop functional capability with numerous computer applications and systems (Microsoft Office, Google Suites, SAP, Lotus Notes, IP21, etc.) to be able to effectively do the job and assist operations.
12. Calibrate and maintain process instruments.
13. Ability to use manuals to look up parts.
14. Ability to read and interpret instrumentation installation and operating manuals.
15. Knowledge of meaning and terminology of pertinent symbols including logic symbols.
16. Knowledge of principles, laws and theories of pneumatics and instrumentation.
17. Knowledge of and skills in using test instruments.
18. Knowledge of National Electric Code.
19. Knowledge of principles, laws and theories of electricity and electrical circuitry.
20. Knowledge of types and functions of a wide range of electrical devices.
21. Knowledge of principles, laws and theories of electronics and electronic circuitry.
22. Knowledge of and skill in using basic hand tools (pliers, socket wrenches, nut drivers, wire strippers, wire and tubing cutters, stake-on pliers, crimpers, cable pullers, etc.) and power tools (drills, saber saw, hydraulic punch, etc.).
23. Knowledge of basic math, simple algebra and geometry to calculate calibrations and/or loads in circuitry, and/or to compute conversions following a formula such as milliamps to volts.
24. Ability to diagnose problems, take logical steps and use information learned to correct situations
25. Ability and willingness to work with mechanics, operators, contractors, and office staff.
26. Ability and willingness to work around pressurize systems such as acid piping and steam systems.
27. Willing to continuously improve on job specific skills. Example: Attend Instrumentation, PLC, etc training classes as necessary to stay current in field of expertise.
28. Work overtime and available for call in as needed.
29. Ability to respond and report to work to emergency call-ins within 1 hour.
30. Ability to climb ladders and work from elevated heights.
31. Ability to lift 50 lbs.
32. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
33. Ability and willingness to be respirator fit tested and wear a respirator and level B acid suit.
34. Ability to learn to safely operate various mobile equipment (Scissors lift, JLG manlift, JD Gator, etc)
35. Participate actively in site EHS and PSM auditing as necessary.
1.Haveone of the following:

  • Associate's Degree in Science (specializationin Instrumentation or Electronics) or,
  • Possess the appropriate certificate from arecognized technical school or association (such as ISA) or,
  • Possess a higher degree in a related

Engineering Program or,

  • A minimum of 5 years relevant experience inprocess instrumentation, preferably in the chemicals manufacturing, or similarindustry.

Position Overview The Quality Assurance Inspector is the primary daily contact for operations with the Quality Assurance group. With limited supervision by the ManagerQuality Assurance - Inspections, the Quality Assurance Inspector independently coordinates and executes all tasks relating to inspection. The Inspector will perform checks and audits in Packaging, Manufacturing, and/or the warehouse on a daily basis. The Inspector has the responsibility to assess product conformity to specifications and the authority to disposition in-process materials. When incidents occur, the Inspector will initiate and conduct investigations and coordinate activities with production personnel. Main Areas of Responsibilities * The inspector is the primary day-to-day Quality Assurance contact for production personnel. * The inspector has the responsibility to ensure that operations are complying with cGMPs and Standard Operating Procedures. * The inspector is responsible for identifying deviations that occur in operations. When deviations occur, inspectors have the authority and responsibility to stop the operation. Additionally, inspectors have the authority to refuse the release of an operation if requirements for release have not been satisfactorily met. * The inspector has the responsibility to assess product conformity to specifications and the authority to disposition in-process materials. If materials are found to be non-conforming, inspectors have the authority to segregate material and place it on QA Hold/Block. * The inspector is responsible for conducting investigations. This includes performing and overseeing investigations into failed or out of spec conditions, incomplete/incorrect documentation, deviations or incidents. * The inspector is responsible for assessing the adequacy of batch record documentation on-line. * Daily responsibilities include review and release of production lines and rooms, line audits and checks, retain sampling, ANSI inspections, general inspection, incoming materials inspection, and resolving production problems. * The Quality Assurance inspector is responsible for conducting materials tracking for re-assay, sampling, and inspection. * The Quality Assurance inspector also authors and reviews Standard Operating Procedures, generates cGMP documentation, and provides training as needed to other employees. * Handles additional responsibilities and projects that may be assigned by immediate supervision or other QA Management staff. Possess the latitude to decide how to best complete assigned projects and responsibilities. * Each employee will be required to develop their individual skills to a point that will allow them to train others. * Perform documentation support – ensures compliance with SOP's, Batch Records, Validation Reports, Forms, Training and Visual Inspection Reports (VIR). * Perform room/equipment inspections (Production) – Assessing whether the proper clean was done and documented as required. Assessing that the cleaning was performed satisfactorily per SOP (prevent cross contamination). * Assist with Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) training for new employees when necessary. * Conduct Quarterly Environmental Monitoring (EM) – independently coordinating the sampling of facilities and equipment, interpreting the data, assessing if the facility is acceptable for the processing of drug products based on the data gathered and summarizing the information in a report. * Investigate Customer Complaints (CC). * Review and approve the calibrations program reports and paperwork. Reviews calibration and preventative maintenance stickers prior to releasing equipment for production. * Review and approval of various procedures, production, and documentation as directed in SOP's. * Conducts self-inspection audits to ensure compliance with Quality Management System procedures and cGMP regulations. Requirements * This is an entry level professional position for Quality Assurance. * No specific experience is required but Pharmaceutical Industry experience is preferred. Preferred Skills/Qualification * Incumbents should be thorough, detail-oriented, have the ability to multi-task and possess strong organizational and communication skills. * The position requires proficiency in basic mathematics and the ability to read and interpret written instruction and data, and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook and Internet Explorer. * Some technical writing experience is preferred. * The Quality Assurance inspector must have the ability to work well with others and be a team player. * Each Quality Assurance inspector will be required to train, coach and coordinate with others throughout the plant. * The Quality Assurance inspector must possess excellent communication skills to adequately communicate with departments within the plant. * The communication ability also extends outside the plant to persons within the Forest/Allergan organization, vendors, and any other outside contacts.
