As a Probe Test Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will use your specialized knowledge of Micron proprietary methods of designing and manufacturing semiconductor memory devices ("chips") to carry out your responsibilities. You will develop Test Plans for products in the given area. Test plans will include software and hardware requirements, defect coverage, characterization, trending, process flow, and test times. You will support both internal and external groups on experiments designed to improve yield or overall part performance.
Responsibilities and tasks include but are not limited to:
Data Mining and analysis to determine root cause.
Track data for anomalies, identify product, hardware, or Probe card issues.
Lead Test Program development for products in the given area.
Independently debug device issues and provide feedback to external groups.
Independently develop experiments designed to improve yield or overall part performance.
Lead Design for Test (DFT) review and verification.
Perform Test Cost Analysis when required.
Evaluate and verify yields to ensure we are shipping the highest quality product.
Ensure all test programs, scripts, or any other software is completely checked out prior to a production release.
Support customer and internal audits.
Drive standardized methods and processes across areas, departments, and sites as appropriate.
Perform Equipment Evaluations.
Define metrics for probe to meet the end goal.
Identify patentable inventions, make timely disclosures of patentable inventions, and keep proper records for obtaining a patent.
Support intra-departmental (and multi-site) teams in development of new processes and capabilities to support product roadmap.
Evaluate and propose process changes in other departments (where applicable) to reduce test tooling, processing costs, part functionality and or complexity.
Knowledge in Unix/Linux/Solaris.
Knowledge in C/C++/Perl coding skills.
Electronics/Electrical circuit knowledge as applied to the part and the test equipment.
Knowledge of digital systems and logic gates.
Knowledge of transistor operation.
Basic understanding of the entire semiconductor memory process flow (NAND and/or DRAM).
Knowledge in semiconductor devices, processes and equipment.
Knowledge in statistical software for data analysis.
Familiarity with writing test benches using hardware description languages such as Verilog or VHDL.
Must be willing to work evenings or weekends, if necessary.

Hours of work: Usually 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday- also must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary
Degree Required: BS or equivalent foreign education
