Supervises a specialized caseload of adult sex offenders. Serves as team leader for the District #34 Sex Offender Program. Performs investigations, casework and administrative services.
Identifies high risk/need offenders both pre and post parole status. Conducts assessments and evaluations to determine the specific services required to make an appropriate transition back into the community. Develops and coordinates delivery of services with Sex Offender Treatment and Polygraph Providers, mental health, medical, substance abuse, educational, vocational, employment, housing and other social service/community based agencies.
Coordinates and monitors GPS electronic monitoring service. Appears before civic groups to request assistance in delivery of services for employment opportunities for offenders.
Valid driver's license. Experience as a Probation Officer and/or working with adult offenders.Considerable working knowledge and/or experience with the theories and practices of social casework, treatment methods.
Considerable working knowledge and/or experience with substance abuse or mental health or sex offender issues, social service community program and crisis intervention techniques. Experience working with Sex Offenders. Demonstrated experience working with sex offender risk assessment tools.
Demonstrated ability to lead the work of others and communicate effectively, interact with offenders and the public. Experience working closely with other professional groups within and outside state government.
Prefer graduate from an accredited college or university with a degree in behavioral science, criminal justice, rehabilitation counseling or equivalent training and/or experience. Prefer awareness of Evidence Based Practices.
