Northrop Grumman Innovation is currently seeking an experienced Systems Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist team in our Beavercreek, OH offices.
Defines and develops material strategy for all programs. Responsible for the assessment of supply resources; aggregates and prioritizes demand requirements; plans inventory, distribution requirements, production, material and rough-cut capacity for all products. Participates in make/buy process, long-term capacity and resource planning; product phase-in/phase-out, manufacturing ramp-up, end-of-life management and product-line management. Analyzes and aggregates supply / demand requirements. Analyzes purchase material supply/demand position using both Manual Tools and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools. Plans inventory levels based on dependent and independent Bill-of-Materials (BOM) requirements. Manages ad-hoc demand with R&D programs to ensure supply of all required materials. Inserts themselves into all program teams to ensure all material requirements are understood and managed in advance of need. Assesses rough-cut capacity for current and short-term manufacturing requirements. Creates/reduces supply requirements based on inventory adjustments. Participates in long-term capacity and resource planning to ensure proper scheduling of new product line phase-ins as well as existing product line phase-outs. Interfaces with Source process area regarding inventory levels, working capital and other areas as needed. Creates/releases requisitions. Receives/reviews requirements for non-standard parts. Analyzes lead times and identifies critical path procurements. Leads the stand up of a formal material planning function for the site, to include both writing and implementing new policies and procedures to better the organization in this functional area and to help formally establish the full utilization of the MRP system.
Leads the Establishment of a Formal Material Planning function and MRP Utilization for the site (not fully utilized currently - much is manual).
Owns all Materials / Outside Service Responsibility for the Entire Site
Manages All Buy Parts and Services
Generates PRs for Buy Parts/Services for all Direct Programs
Coordinates Timing of Requisition Placement, Purchasing, Acceptance, and Routing of Materials based on Program Needs.
Manages Part Lead Times
Coordinates Program MBOMs w/ Engineering to ensure proper data to support procurement decisions and program production requirements
Ensures programs encounter a zero stock-out rate.
Expedites Critical Materials w/ Procurement
Manages Material Issues w/ Procurement
Participates in Program IPT Meetings and Production Support Meetings
Statuses Production Control & Program IPTs of Material Issues
Ensures Materials meet Production Schedules
Controls Excess, Insufficient, or Deficient Materials. This may require Working with the Customer, Engineering, Program Manager, Buyers, Finance, Suppliers, or Other External Vendors
Resolves Complex Materials Issues for Programs.
Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Excel.
Demonstrated proficiency manipulating and analyzing large data sets.
Demonstrated proficiency with ERP/MRP Systems
Experience in Lean Manufacturing Principles and Applications
Experience managing Shelf Life expiring materials
Knowledgeable in areas of Procurement, Manufacturing, Engineering/Design.
Supplier Scheduling (line of balance, level loading, Kanban, Lean, etc
Experience with both Low Rate (Job Shop Style) R&D and Production, as well as High Rate Production Material Planning.
Experience leading process implementation and/or improvement efforts.
