Membership and active participation in professional organization is desirable. Previous experience is preferred. BLS certificate required or obtained within 6 months of hire.

Weekend Package:

Weekend on-call from Friday Night, 5:30 pm on-call/call back 6:00 am $100.00

Saturday & Sunday Weekend rate to include: $450.00

Saturday 6:00am 1:00pm as regular lab hours

Saturday 1:00pm Sunday 6:00am on-call/call back

Sunday 6:00am 10:00am as regular lab hours

Sunday 10:00am 6:00pm on-call/call back

Weekend on-call from Sunday Night, 6:00 pm on-call/call back 6:00 am $100.00

Non-weekend hourly rate (ie: training, picking up extra shifts during week)

$17.66-$25.39 MLT/$20.19-$29.53 MLS

Non-weekend on-call rate $2.00 per hour

If unable to fulfill the entire weekend schedule, you will be paid your non-weekend hourly rates for actual hours worked or on-call rate.

You agree to work at least two (2) weekends every three (3) months but preferably monthly, except in extenuating circumstances, discussed with lab manager.

JOB SUMMARY

Performs all routine and complex Lab tests. With adequate orientation and supervision, performs more complex lab tests. Confirms and verifies results using knowledge of techniques, principles and instruments. Correlates and interpret results based on knowledge of physiological conditions. Monitors Q.A. procedures within preset parameters. Recognizes and solves problems using skills and technical knowledge.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Performs and reports all assigned tests with expected precision and accuracy.

  • Maintains, calibrates and repairs equipment with accurate records of service.

  • Collects blood specimens utilizing the appropriate venipuncture or capillary technique with patients of all age groups including: neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, geriatric. Perform routine therapeutic phlebotomies. Performs arterial sticks for blood gas testing.

  • Provides competent patient care to the above patient populations.

  • Supports and abides by PHO and Laboratory policies and procedures. Abides by federal regulations (CLIA and OSHA).

  • Acts in a professional manner reflecting the mission, philosophy and values of Mitchell County Regional Health Center and Mercy Health NetworkPerforms other responsibilities as requested by the Director of Laboratory Services and/or Administrative Team.

  • Assists in training personnel and students within the department.

  • Performs, evaluates, and records all required Q.C. results.

  • Participates in collecting & processing urine for drug testing as well as breath alcohol testing. Follows DOT guidelines as it applies to employment testing.

  • Demonstrates Service Excellence and Behavior Standards Expectations in all interactions.

  • Adapts positively to the ever changing health care environment by supporting technology and process changes.

  • Documents patient information in the electronic/paper medical record in an accurate and timely manner.

  • Operates computer equipment and software programs relative to performance of essential job functions and other laboratory related requirements.

  • Maintains active log-ons/passwords for computer software systems that support patient care and education.

  • Regular and reliable attendance is expected.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS

  • Attends departmental/hospital inservices and meetings as required or requested.

  • Participates in quality/(QCI)/lean initiatives.

  • Participates in evaluation of new procedures, equipment and methods.

  • May travel to off-site locations to collect specimens

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education:

  • Associate degree in science required. OR Bachelor degreee in sciense required

  • Board of Registry MLT(ASCP), MT(ASCP), or MLS(ASCP) certificate required or obtained within 6 months of hire.

  • Membership and active participation in professional organization desirable.

  • Must demonstrate competence in BLS within six months in position by obtaining certification.

  • Experience:
    1 Previous experience is preferred.

  • Special Skills & Aptitudes

  • Must have ability to work flexible hours (call, Holidays, weekends)

  • Must have ability to communicate effectively with other hospital personnel, patients, vendors, and service personnel.

  • ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have clear speech, normal hearing, good visual acuity and fine motor coordination.

  • B Must be able to stand for long periods.

  • Must be able to frequently lift up to 10 lbs and occasionally up to 30 lbs.

  • Must be able to deal with frequent interruptions and change in work priorities.

  • Must be able to work effectively in an environment with above normal noise level.

VIEW JOBS 9/19/2018 12:00:00 AM 2018-12-18T00:00 Location: Clinics and ER Shifts: Hours will be days Sunday-Saturday JOB SUMMARY A Midlevel Provider is an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) or a Physician Assistant (PA) in the Mitchell County Regional Health Center Physician Hospital Organization (PHO) who provides quality patient care in the outpatient setting, Emergency Department, and outlying communities. The ARNP works collaboratively with primary care physicians, and the PA works under the supervision of approved physicians. The duties of the Midlevel Provider cannot be rigidly defined, but the following description characterizes common expectations of the position. The primary responsibilities may not be interpreted to prohibit functions not specifically identified. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS A. Provides competent patient care to the above indicated patient populations by conducting comprehensive or episodic health assessments to include: Obtaining and interpreting appropriate data Demonstrating critical thinking and diagnostic skills in ordering screening or diagnostic tests or procedures Develops and analyzes differential diagnoses that are based on clinical and laboratory data. Prescribing medications or treatments appropriate to the diagnosis in accordance with the specific governing board for the profession B. Instructs and counsels patients regarding physical and mental health and health promotion. C. Communicates appropriately with collaborating/supervising physicians, other health care professionals, patients and families. D. Provides immediate evaluation and treatment for emergency medical problems, instituting necessary procedures and directing emergency personnel in care and transport of the patient. E. Documents clearly, consistently, in a timely manner all patient care activities and follow-up care. Codes appropriately, based on the documentation and established standards. F. Refers patients appropriately to specialists as needed. G. Is knowledgeable about and appropriately utilizes community services, agencies and resources for patients and their families. H. Directs other clinic staff in the provision and execution of medical care. I. Assures quality patient care by appropriate monitoring and evaluation and participation in CQI activities in the clinic. J. Participates in the formal governance process of MCRHC Clinics. K. Represents the interests of the clinic to the medical staff and other departments of the health care system. L. Participates in the required activities of Mitchell County Regional Health Center and/or appropriate regional hospitals. M. Participates in and assists in the development of staff educational in-service meetings and promotes the application of new knowledge relevant to the clinic. N. Supports and abides by all health center departmental and safety policies and procedures. O. Acts in a professional manner reflecting the mission, philosophy and values of Mitchell County Regional Health Center. P. Performs other responsibilities as requested by the Clinic Director and Supervising Physician. Q. Promotes and provides education on health and wellness to patients, families and the community. R.
