Qualifications:MLT: Associate degree in science required. Board of Registry MLT(ASCP) certification required or obtained within 6 months of hire. Membership and active participation in professional organization is desirable. Previous experience is preferred. Weekend on-call from Friday Night, 5:30 pm on-call/call back 6:00 am $100.00
Saturday & Sunday Weekend rate to include: $450.00
Saturday 6:00am 1:00pm as regular lab hours
Saturday 1:00pm Sunday 6:00am on-call/call back
Sunday 6:00am 10:00am as regular lab hours
Sunday 10:00am 6:00pm on-call/call back
Weekend on-call from Sunday Night, 6:00 pm on-call/call back 6:00 am $100.00
Non-weekend hourly rate (ie: training, picking up extra shifts during week)
$17.66-$25.39 MLT/$20.19-$29.53 MLS
Non-weekend on-call rate $2.00 per hour
If unable to fulfill the entire weekend schedule, you will be paid your non-weekend hourly rates for actual hours worked or on-call rate.
You agree to work at least two (2) weekends every three (3) months but preferably monthly, except in extenuating circumstances, discussed with lab manager.
Performs all routine and complex Lab tests. With adequate orientation and supervision, performs more complex lab tests. Confirms and verifies results using knowledge of techniques, principles and instruments. Correlates and interpret results based on knowledge of physiological conditions. Monitors Q.A. procedures within preset parameters. Recognizes and solves problems using skills and technical knowledge.
Performs and reports all assigned tests with expected precision and accuracy.
Maintains, calibrates and repairs equipment with accurate records of service.
Collects blood specimens utilizing the appropriate venipuncture or capillary technique with patients of all age groups including: neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, geriatric. Perform routine therapeutic phlebotomies. Performs arterial sticks for blood gas testing.
Provides competent patient care to the above patient populations.
Supports and abides by PHO and Laboratory policies and procedures. Abides by federal regulations (CLIA and OSHA).
Acts in a professional manner reflecting the mission, philosophy and values of Mitchell County Regional Health Center and Mercy Health NetworkPerforms other responsibilities as requested by the Director of Laboratory Services and/or Administrative Team.
Assists in training personnel and students within the department.
Performs, evaluates, and records all required Q.C. results.
Participates in collecting & processing urine for drug testing as well as breath alcohol testing. Follows DOT guidelines as it applies to employment testing.

Adapts positively to the ever changing health care environment by supporting technology and process changes.
Documents patient information in the electronic/paper medical record in an accurate and timely manner.
Operates computer equipment and software programs relative to performance of essential job functions and other laboratory related requirements.
Maintains active log-ons/passwords for computer software systems that support patient care and education.
Regular and reliable attendance is expected.
Attends departmental/hospital inservices and meetings as required or requested.
Participates in quality/(QCI)/lean initiatives.
Participates in evaluation of new procedures, equipment and methods.
May travel to off-site locations to collect specimens
Associate degree in science required. OR Bachelor degreee in sciense required

1 Previous experience is preferred.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS
Must have clear speech, normal hearing, good visual acuity and fine motor coordination.
B Must be able to stand for long periods.
Must be able to frequently lift up to 10 lbs and occasionally up to 30 lbs.
Must be able to deal with frequent interruptions and change in work priorities.
Must be able to work effectively in an environment with above normal noise level.
