Job Details Job Location Hillcrest - Evansville, IN Hillcrest Youth Services is currently seeking a PRN Registered Nurse (RN) to add to our team of professionals. This position will work in our Residential Youth Program at Hillcrest on an as needed basis.
WHAT IS THIS POSITION RESPONSIBLE FOR? Provide clinical services to assigned residents. Conduct all required physical health screenings for residents during the required timeframe.
Make referrals as necessary. Serve as professional nursing link between patient and physicians, pharmacist, case managers, therapists, youth care workers and other care providers. Provide education to residents and staff regarding physical needs, medications, wellness and safety.
Dispense and administer medication when needed. Assess patient compliance and response to medication. Maintain secure storage and appropriate documentation of medication.
Provide and assist in ongoing trainings as needed Monitor medication errors. Complete initial health assessments for all Hillcrest residents within the timeframe required. Provide needed therapeutic emergency interventions and protection for individuals who are in crisis.
Maintain TB administration certification. Administer TB tests to staff annually as well as residents. Provide nutritional training to all staff and residents as needed.
Schedule and attend necessary medical appointments for residents. Participate in treatment team meetings. Participate in Health & Safety meetings.
WHAT'S REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION? Associate degree required. Current, valid State of Indiana RN nursing license required.
SCHEDULE: as needed basis Complete and maintain certification as a TB test administrator. Must be at least 21 years of age. Must have knowledge of relevant clinical issues and demonstrable clinical expertise for resident population served.
Obtain and maintain CPR certification and Cornell T.C.I. training. Must meet requirements as identified by State Licensing regulations. Knowledge of medical terminology; excellent grammar, spelling and punctuation.
Requires exceptional customer service and phone etiquette; excellent communication skills; attention to detail; ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow; skill to act independently and quickly when necessary. Must have valid driver's license, auto insurance that meets the Indiana State minimum coverage requirement, and qualify for Company's vehicle liability insurance.
