SUMMARY: Cares for patients in the hospital, or other medical facility, under direction of nursing, by performing the following duties. Provides exceptional service and/or care to all patients, customers and team members.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Answers call lights to determine patients' needs.

  • Assists patients with activities of daily living.

  • Serves and collects food trays and feeds patients requiring help.

  • Transports patients or assists patients to walk.

  • Turns and repositions patients, alone or with assistance.

  • Changes bed linens, runs errands, directs visitors, and answers telephone.

  • Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration rates, and food and fluid intake and output, as directed.

  • Maintains a neat and clean patient environment.

  • Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Requirements

Education/Training/Experience:

  • License(s), Certification(s), Registration(s), Accreditation(s):
  • Louisiana CNA certification
  • CPR Certification

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Adhere to all requirements, policies, procedures and mandatory training as identified by LGMC.

  • Must comply with all SERVICE Standards of Behavior

EQUIPMENT OPERATED:

  • Computer

  • Various types of medical instruments & equipment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Medium Work Medium level work as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor constitutes a maximum lift of 21 50 pounds on occasion and/or a maximum lift of 11- 25 pounds on a frequent basis.

  • May be required to assist in the turning, lifting, or moving of patients. Walking about from patients' rooms as well as to and from various hospital areas.

VIEW JOBS 11/22/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-20T00:00 Description Position Summary: The Cardiovascular Ultrasonographer performs diagnostic non-invasive examinations for subsequent evaluation and treatment by attending physicians. Responsibilities: * Performs various diagnostic testing procedures in the Non-Invasive Lab which include ü Vascular ultrasound ü Non-Invasive vascular assessment ü Adult and pediatric echocardiography ü Transesophageal echocardiography ü Adult and pediatric stress testing ü Tilt table stress testing * Selects proper technical factors on an individual patient basis * Selects and operates equipment as directed * Performs diagnostic testing in the Non-Invasive Lab, patients rooms (portable), and surgery * Lifts, moves, and transports patients via wheelchair or stretcher * Maintains records of examination data and other pertinent information on patients * Able to notify ordering physician with preliminary report on diagnostic testing as per physician request * Secures and returns supplies – film, linen, patient folders, etc. * Maintains adequate supplies for proper lab operation * Obtains a complete clinical history * Collects and records data obtained onto digital recording system * Insures test reporting is accessible in hospital computer system and to requesting physician * Schedules appointments and daily add-on tests * Adheres to the policies and procedures of the hospital and Cardiology Department * Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients * Must be able to assess the patient's status, communicate effectively, and provide care for each age group * Participates in after hour on-call rotation duties specific to department needs Minimum Requirements EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE: * Experience in multiple modalities preferred * Graduated from an accredited school of Cardiovascular Sonography; echovascular registry eligible; credentials must be acquired within two (2) years (OR) * Credentialed as an echovascular sonographer with at least four hundred (400) actual scanning hours * Certification by American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) within one year. * Preferred graduate from a formal Medical Sonography Program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Education Program (CAAHEP). * Preferred registered by ARRT and licensed by Louisiana in diagnostic radiology. * Certified in CPR within 30 days of employment and recertified prior to expiration. * High school graduate or equivalent. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS: * Medium level work as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor constitutes a maximum lift of 21 - 50 pounds on occasion and / or a maximum lift of 11 -25 pounds on a frequent basis * Standing most of the time * Pushing mobile equipment to area of use * Reaching for supportive devices and machine controls * Talking and hearing to give instructions to patients * Near visual acuity and depth perception to examine exposed film for pertinent detail * Works inside - Electrical and radiant energy hazards. Wears protective gloves and apron during certain procedures * Lifting of patients on and off table Formal application; verification of education, and experience; verification of license(s), certification(s), registration(s), accreditation(s) if applicable; oral interview, reference and background checks; job related tests may be required.
