Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse with the Good Samaritan Society, you play a crucial role in leading care for our residents. You have excellent clinical skills, are a great leader, and are able to manage multiple resident and employee responsibilities simultaneously.

  • SF Village has a great opportunity for RN or LPN Nurses looking for flexible schedules. We are hiring PRN nurses to work 2pm-6pm or 6pm-10pm or other flexible schedules that may work for you.

As a Charge Nurse-RN or LPN, you will be overseeing the care to residents in a caring, safe and efficient manner, Use your nursing skills in managing a variety of clinical situations from short term rehab to assisting residents with chronic and long term medical management. Lead care planning discussions, conduct assessments, and interact with the interdisciplinary team, physicians and families. Your direct involvement in clinical situations with an ever changing resident population keeps your skills fresh and each day different and to achieve high quality resident care outcomes.

  • Receive customized orientation to help you be successful in your RN or LPN charge nurse role.

  • Participate in nurse specific learning opportunities to continue to grow in your skills.

What you'll do: For residents, you'll promote a positive living experience by maintaining privacy and meeting medical requirements as determined by their physician, as well as observing and documenting resident care each day.

You'll help administer medication, maintain appropriate health records and assist with resident care plans. You'll also work with families and leadership to understand daily care and medication needs.

Your role also will include direct resident care at times, helping residents with all necessary personal care. You'll help as needed with transferring, repositioning and walking using correct and appropriate techniques and equipment.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Prior work experience in like or related position preferred.

Maintains required certification / qualifications and associated standards. Licensure for state of practice is required.

Knowledge of basic nursing skills; knowledge and familiarity with the therapeutic effects and side effects of all medications administered.

Demonstrates knowledge of nursing principles for the patient in the relevant setting and possesses the ability to perform testing to assess data reflective of the patient's status and to interpret appropriately the information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to the age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed. Demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge and utilizes appropriate age and population specific standards as designated in the home care setting. Ensures the health, comfort and safety of patients. Knowledge of the principles and skills needed for nursing to provide patient care and treatment. Knowledge of medications and their effects on patients. Knowledge of patient education principles to develop a self-care program. Contribute to the evaluation of the plan of care by gathering, observing, recording and communication patient responses to nursing interventions. Communicate relevant information with patients and health team members to ensure quality and continuity of care. Applies home healthcare operating principles and practices within own position. DEPARTMENT DETAILS Caring for 4 hospice patients in a residential facility under the direction of an RN. QUALIFICATIONS Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse. If position requires IV therapy/management skills, the following is required in North Dakota: graduation from a Board approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing. One year of professional nursing experience preferred. Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications. Valid driver's license and proof of insurance required.
