Responsibilities JOB PURPOSE
The Investment Associate will provide middle office and trading support on CIBC Private Wealth Group's proprietary investment and client portfolios. Other responsibilities of the Investment Associate include performing various analytical activities related to trade input and administrative support for the Head of Equities. The role will also be responsible for maintaining a variety of quantitative and qualitative models in areas of risk monitoring, economic analysis, portfolio management, and trade flow.
Provide analytical and middle office support in the timely and accurate completion of the following duties.
Support investment traders and portfolio managers in the day-to-day trading and management of managed accounts
Provide analytic & administrative support for the Investment Center of Excellence for CIBC Private Wealth Management
Provide administrative and analytical support for the Head of Equities
Retrieve economic and company specific data as inputs for quantitative and qualitative modeling
Assist in creating and updating marketing materials
Draft client communications, specifically content for presentations
Achieve and sustain a balanced approach to managing risk by ensuring compliance controls and processes (regulatory, compliance, fiduciary) are integrated into day to day activities.
Contribute to a strong organizational culture through positive, collaborative behaviors resulting in client and employee engagement.
Pursue continuous improvement and be a problem solver by anticipating obstacles, developing plans to overcome and looking for ways to improve.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Fluency in Microsoft Office applications
Prior experience in Investment or Private Wealth industries
Knowledge of analytical software such as FactSet, Bloomberg or similar tools
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects within specified time horizons, and strong attention to detail
Ability to manage a large volume of data from multiple sources and varying formats
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to convey information to internal partners in a clear, focused and concise manner
Strong analytical, quantitative and problem solving skills, including experience in identifying and quantifying problems and providing effective resolutions
