OverviewA Senior Associate works under the direction and supervision of senior team members to analyze, evaluate and execute potential unitranche or mezzanine debt investments and corresponding equity co-investment. The Senior Associate works closely with other investment team members in modeling and analyzing potential investment opportunities, performing due diligence, preparing investment committee memos and ongoing portfolio management including the workout of underperforming investments.

Works with minimal supervision and is responsible for independently making a broad range of critical decisions, escalating to management when appropriate.ResponsibilitiesWhat you will do: Model and analyze new investment opportunities using various valuation techniques including leveraged buyout modeling, three statement modeling, comparable transactions, etc. Perform financial analysis on target Company including pro-forma analysis for new capital structure and due diligence review, in order to make recommendations regarding the pursuit of potential transactions that are consistent with W&S's investment strategies.

Assists in underwriting deals assigned by either a Managing Director or Director, utilizing established underwriting criteria, market research and market data for underwriting credit risks subject to review and approval by senior team members. Meets regularly with the borrower to review company performance. Participates in meetings with senior members of Western and Southern Financial Group, private equity groups, and management of target borrowers.

Establishes relationships with Private Equity Groups to increase deal flow, tracks deal flow in CRM and supports origination activities Ongoing monitoring of the existing portfolio. As appropriate, coordinates with Closing Coordinator, Outside Counsel and Internal Legal Department in due diligence materials and other legal documentation issues. Reviews and assesses comparable transactions data for proposed investments, and incorporates findings in final underwriting.

As part of the closing process, maintains a due diligence checklist and ensures that the items within the checklist are being completed. To the extent not supported by an Associate performs all responsibilities of those positions as they relate to assigned investment opportunities. Reviews files and emails to confirm that all required underwriting material has been collected and is properly filed in the appropriate location.

As needed, supports the New Business Development area in the creation of private placement memoranda for the syndication of co-investment opportunities, providing key statistical and qualitative facts with respect to the merits of the investment opportunity. Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all policies and standards

Qualifications Bachelor's Degree BA/BS in Accounting, Finance or Economics or related field. (Required) Master's Degree MBA (Preferred) Typically requires six to ten years related experience with a financial institution, private credit investment management firm, investment bank or private equity group. (Required) Proven detailed knowledge of underwriting and financial analysis in a leveraged buyout. Prior experience in insurance, banking or other financial services industry.

This is a fast-paced and team-oriented environment, where priorities can change frequently, and deadlines are often under significant time pressure. Maturity, a self-starter attitude, project and time management discipline and strong communication as well as critical thinking skills are required to be successful in this position. Proven examples from work experience demonstrating extensive experience of the specific knowledge requirements discussed above.

Demonstrated good analytical skills, as shown by knowledge and proven ability in the use and application of financial models. Can comprehensively and succinctly complete a case study.Work Setting/Position Demands: NoneTravel Requirements: 20% travel Travel to meet private equity sponsors and to visit prospects and existing borrowers.
