Wholesale Banking provides financial solutions to businesses across the United States and globally. Our nine major business lines include Business Banking, Middle Market Banking, Government and Institutional Banking, Corporate Banking, Commercial Real Estate, Financial Institutions Group, Wells Fargo Commercial Capital, Wells Fargo Securities, and the Investment Portfolio. Our Business Banking Credit Services Team has an exciting opportunity for a Private Business Loan Underwriter 3 to join our underwriting team in Boise,Idaho!

Analyzes most complex financial and credit information for larger Commercial business or high net worth customer loans according to business unit standards. Underwrites high net worth loans with higher aggregate credit exposure and may manage a more complex portfolio and customer base. Compiles, analyzes, and documents loan data and credit risk, borrower and property information. May perform research and analysis related to loan projects, such as industry studies and management reports. May cross-sell products and services. May negotiate loan provisions. May mentor or review analysis of less experienced underwriters.

They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit's risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of underwriting experience
  • 4+ years of commercial lending experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

  • Commercial loan experience

  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization

  • A BS/BA degree or higher in accounting, finance, or economics

  • Successful completion of the Wells Fargo formal Credit Training Program

  • Knowledge and understanding of loan structuring across broad spectrum of product and loan types

  • Business banking experience

  • Ability to receive and transmit written communications

  • Ability to work in a fast paced deadline driven environment

  • Ability to gather, organize, and interpret data

We are currently seeking a Mortgage Loan Officer Trainee to join our Mortgage Team. As a Mortgage Loan Officer Trainee your primary function is to assist Mortgage Loan Officers in making sales calls and presentations to prospective Real Estate Agents, Builders, and Business Partners on a regular basis to develop long-term relationships. You are required to promote and cross-sell additional Credit Union products and services. ResponsibilitiesMarket Credit Union Mortgage products externally in a designated area.Handle applications and manage all communication during the loan process.Gather needed verification documents from members and real estate partners.Prepare and deliver initial disclosures on completed mortgage applications.Handle underwriting of Pre-Qualified loan amounts in a timely manner.Direct sales marketing including follow up calls and letters to new members.Assist Branch Staff and Business Development in sales presentations and Wacky Weekends.Cross-sell all Credit Union products and services when possible.Strong follow up and member communication.Attend all loan closings. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience preferred. The ability to work under pressure and organize tasks for optimal sales performance. Excellent communication and people skills. Must be able to achieve the minimum monthly sales expectations established by the Vice President of Mortgages. Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity (processing paperwork, filing, stapling, sorting, collating, typing, counting cash, etc.). Sit for extended periods of time. Lift 20-40 pounds of office supplies (copy paper, computer paper, mail, etc.). Repetitive motion using wrists, hands, and fingers. Reach keyboards.
