As the Private Bank Loan Sales Manager ("PB LM") for our newly launched Private Bank ("PB") at Citizens, you will report to the PB Chief Operating Officer and will play a pivotal role in enhancing, adding, and bringing to market the private bank lending products. You'll be responsible for providing strategic and analytical thought leadership on all aspects of the Private Bank's lending business.

The PB LM will collaborate with the Bank's Consumer and Commercial lending teams (Mortgage, HELOC, Card, Partner Lending, Small Business, Wealth, and Commercial) to deliver a best-in-class Private Bank lending platform. The PB LM will lead cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, Citizen lending and pricing teams, finance, and others, to shape and execute on bringing to market the Private Bank's market leading lending products.

Responsibilities:

  • Lending Vision/Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive vision that aligns with the Private Bank's business objectives.

    Articulate the story of what the private bank intends to deliver for clients and how lending products can fuel relationship acquisition and drive profitability. Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and ensure timely delivery of projects that meet the ongoing needs of the business. Create PB lending objectives and key results that address and provide a way to measure the impact of lending initiatives continually.

  • Product and Pricing: Collaborate with PB Leadership, the Bank's Consumer and Commercial lending teams, and other PB stakeholders to develop best-in-class lending products, pricing practices, analysis, and modeling to optimize risk adjusted profitability and return on equity.

    Ensure pricing strategies and new initiatives attain desired profitability hurdles. Ensure that PB loan pricing and profitability models, analysis, governance and/or reporting are appropriately incorporated in CFG Loan Committees and governance practices and procedures. Proactively identifies new market opportunities and risks arising from competitive, regulatory, and other internal and external factors.

    Provides recommendations to enhance product, channel, and customer profitability. Ensures proper policies and procedures are in place to document PB pricing. Executive and external reporting and analysis; profitability and pricing models; governance/model risk management; and/or Pricing Committee Process for business area(s).

  • Customer Experience Enhancement: Collaborate with sales, operations, and marketing teams to understand client needs, pain points, and expectations. Collaborate and lead cross-functional teams to design and implement initiatives aimed at delivering an extraordinary client service experience and deliver personalized client experiences across various touchpoints.

  • Cross-Functional Communications: Engage with key stakeholders, including internal teams, senior management, and external partners, to gather insights, solicit feedback, and drive alignment on product strategies and initiatives.

    Create and lead communications forums to drive ongoing connectivity between relationship managers and business stakeholders. Provide guidance and mentorship to loan team members on how to effectively communicate with stakeholders and clients. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment that's willing to acknowledge missteps and quickly work to refine solutions.

  • Project Management: Serve as the PB lead on loan initiatives, including requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, go-to-market strategy, and ongoing impact measurement.

    Manage relationships with lending and pricing partners, immerse yourself in various agile delivery pods, and ensure objectives are aligned with deliverables and delivered with extraordinary client service. Ensure PB lending initiatives comply with regulatory frameworks, security standards, and data privacy regulations, collaborating closely with the bank's risk and compliance teams. Collaborate with finance teams to develop and manage the budget, ensuring cost-effective delivery of projects and optimal utilization of resources.

  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement by monitoring loan product and pricing trends, evaluating industry best practices, and implementing process enhancements to optimize operational efficiency and effectiveness. Identify opportunities to enhance client engagement and experience, operational efficiency, and risk management.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of experience in loan product or pricing leadership roles, preferably within the banking or financial services industry.

  • Strong Business Acumen: In-depth understanding of private banking products, services, and operations, with the ability to translate business requirements into lending solutions.

  • Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in a broad range of profitability models, pro-formats, analysis, pricing models, and the related regulatory, compliance, and reporting requirements.

  • Project Management Skills: Proven track record of successfully managing complex loan pricing projects within budget and timeline constraints.

  • Leadership and Communication: Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically, analyze complex problems, and develop loan and pricing solutions to drive business outcomes.

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with banking and, specifically, lending regulations, compliance, standards governing the financial services industry.

  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with the ability to adapt to evolving business and lending landscapes.

Hours & Work Schedule

  • Hours per Week: 40
  • Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00-5:00
  • Work location is flexible to include either San Francisco, Boston or Johnston, RI with workplace flexibility such as 3 days in office and 2 days from home.

Pay Transparency

The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $175,000 per year, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
