Your team responsibilities

As a Private Assets Product Manager, you will be part of a team within MSCI focused on delivering high growth to the firm through Private Asset investment solutions to Asset Owner and Private Asset Manager clients, globally. You will be responsible for defining and delivering the portfolio analytics strategy and roadmap for the private asset business, which includes private equity, private debt, real estate, and infrastructure. You will work closely with all business stakeholders to identify client needs and prioritize and deliver commercially successful solutions. You will partner with the Technology and Data team on developing solutions based on the requirements you provide.

Your key responsibilities

  • Define and communicate the vision, strategy, competitive positioning and roadmap for private asset portfolio risk and return solutions, including indexes, benchmarks and performance attribution.

  • With client coverage and marketing, identify and evaluate client needs and develop value propositions and business plans/cases for MSCI solutions.

  • Review and improve service delivery and cost, to ensure we deliver solutions in an efficient, scalable and profitable manner.

  • Propose pricing structure and approve special pricing where necessary.

  • Provide product expertise in key client meetings, lead client consultations to gather critical feedback from MSCI clients and stakeholders and present the product roadmap in client calls and meetings.

  • Support our client facing organization by responding to questions from MSCI client coverage related to existing product features, functionality, pricing and licensing; assisting with RFPs; assisting with client communications; and helping to organize periodic training sessions for coverage.

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

  • Education: An ideal candidate will hold a degree in a technical field; for example, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration or the equivalent in experience.

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in product management, preferably in the financial services industry focused on private assets.

  • Deep knowledge and understanding of the private asset space and market participants, including general partners, asset owners, data providers and service providers.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills and ability to translate business needs into data solutions.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills and ability to communicate complex data concepts and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Proven track record of delivering private asset solutions products and projects that meet or exceed the business expectations and objectives.
