Privacy & Compliance Operations Specialist
Reporting to the Deputy Chief Compliance Officer, the Privacy and Compliance Operations Specialist is responsible for supporting a variety of company-wide projects and initiatives addressing regulatory compliance and privacy risks. Candidates should have a good understanding of data protection principles or experience working within a regulatory compliance function, along with some expertise in program development and implementation. Knowledge of privacy and compliance regulations is a plus. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to work independently and manage deadlines, have strong research, communication and analytical skills, be thoughtful and strategic, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Privacy Responsibilities Include:
Assist with privacy risk assessments to identify and address privacy risks under the supervision of the Chief Privacy Counsel;
Maintain global personal data inventory including coordinating input from key stakeholders such as HR, IT, Cybersecurity and other relevant business teams;
Maintain and manage process to respond to requests from data subjects to exercise their privacy rights
Assist with drafting and updating privacy policies and procedures;
Assist in creating and administering privacy compliance trainings and communications;
Assist in responding to privacy concerns and complaints under the supervision of the Chief Privacy Counsel;
Raise awareness about privacy;
Track global privacy breach enforcement actions; and
Perform other duties as assigned.
Key Compliance Responsibilities Include:
Assist with compliance risk assessments, compliance reviews and compliance due diligence;
Collaborate with other compliance team members to continue development of key aspects of the Global Compliance Program;
Participate in the implementation of the Global Compliance Program throughout the company;
Assist with routine updates of compliance policies, procedures and processes;
Address questions and provide guidance to employees on compliance-related policies and procedures;
Provide administrative support to the compliance team;
Help monitor compliance with applicable policies and procedures;
Support the Company's adoption of tools and technologies that support the Global Compliance Program;
Work collaboratively with other functions (e.g. HR, Audit and Finance) and other key stakeholders to appropriately document and respond to compliance issues; and,
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
Minimum 5 years of experience in general compliance, or legal operations
Minimum of 1 years in privacy compliance/operations; knowledge of data protection principles
Intermediate proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Some program management experience
Graduate level degree (Masters, MBA, JD) or Bachelor's Degree plus at least 10 years work experience
Minimum 7 years of experience in general compliance, privacy compliance or legal operations
Minimum 3 years in privacy compliance/operations
Knowledge of national and international privacy regulations (e.g. GDPR, CCPA) and data protection principles
Strong computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Experience leveraging software and technology to help enable compliance with applicable regulations and laws
Strong program management experience
