This is a full-time position.
This position will include the following duties...
Contact insurance to verify if prior authorization is required.
Request prior authorization through online portal as well as calling insurance.
In the event billing states letter of medical necessity needed you would be responsible for creating and sending to billing.
Send approved procedures to scheduler to contact patient to schedule.
Follow up phone calls to patients.
Follow up with insurance to check status of prior authorizations.
Send notes when requested.
Perform various clerical duties to support the operation of the office.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Answering phones - courteously and professionally.
Scheduling appointments, lab tests, surgeries, etc.
Verifying referrals and/or pre-certifications.
Updating insurance information.
Answering general patient questions.
Taking messages accurately and relaying to appropriate personnel.
Preparing and/or submitting charge tickets.
Preparing and cleaning exam rooms.
Sorting, filing and scanning patient charts.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
Excellent communication, phone, and organizational skills required.
Computer skills helpful.
Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time and completes all tasks within established time frame.
Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.
Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.
Previous clerical experience in a medical office
