Position Description

We are looking for a Printing Applications Specialist to cover our Illinois Territory; this is an ideal opportunity for an experienced/mid-career Technician who is looking for long-term growth.

As a Printing Applications Specialist (PAS) you are responsible for the Pre & Post Sales technical support associated with applicable Kodak CTP and conventional plate solutions and related equipment (i.e. platesetters, processing equipment, media and chemistry) The PAS will provide pre-sales support to field sales representatives to understand customer requirements and objectives, help set realistic expectations, document and communicate these expectations, and develop solutions with product bundles and training that best address customer needs. Post sales activities will include providing applicable training, troubleshooting which will include pre-press and press room support for wet and process free technologies, maintenance, and process consulting for plate customers base.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Presales Audits and Application Support. Assist sales representative in communicating the advantages of our plate portfolio to current and prospective customers.

    Set the proper expectations and provide technical guidance to the Sales Force as well as Kodak customers throughout the sales cycle. Meet with customers to understand their application and business requirements, then document and communicate these requirements. Lead prepress and pressroom audits to ensure a successful implementation of plate product solutions Work with the Sales force to close accounts, focus on new and existing accounts, and provide account success management. Participate jointly with the Sales Force to ensure the technical integrity and accuracy of the proposed configuration before delivery to the customer.

  • Coordinate with the Field Service Organization. Provide details to the regional installation team regarding the customer recommended solution, i.e. in advance of order approval and pre-site visits.

    Provide equipment layout schematics and detail, which can guide the service organization relative to equipment requirements, power, drains; dimensions etc. Engage local support resources when required. Communicate with the Kodak Service organization to ensure that site preparation activities are completed according to requirements. Ensure that the specifics of client installations are communicated to the training, applications and service teams in a timely manner

  • Provide Post-Sales Application Support. Provide installation support, calibration, training, troubleshooting and maintenance support of assigned geography and or customer base.

    Provides post-sale installation support for applicable digital solutions to insure connectivity and calibration as required; Provide telephone based and or on site post-sale application troubleshooting (non-break/fix hardware) diagnostic and technical support for applicable solutions. Provides pre-press and press room maintenance support through routine telephone and on-site visits, as available, to ensure that solution is performing to specification; customer is maximizing the use of the solution and applicable consumables

  • Deliver Process Control Services. Support, consult and implement packaged professional services (applications support, education and training initiatives, color calibration, etc.). The programs will support digital prospects and customers by maximizing sales, profits and print volumes

Requirements (i.e., Skills, Systems Knowledge, Degree, Physical, etc.)

  • High Level of Printing and Plate Technology or a related discipline, or a combination of equivalent education and/or experience.

  • 5-7 years of technical support experience in the commercial printing industry.

  • Knowledge of various plate technologies (Analog and Digital), platesetter output devices, CTP workflow and application, prepress and pressroom application expertise.

Willingness to travel to support geographic region as necessary; occasional out of territory travel may be required

VIEW JOBS 10/26/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-01-24T00:00 POSITION PROFILE The Sales Specialist (SS) is responsible for driving business results by achieving sales targets within a defined account assignment. The primary focus of the SS is to drive net new business revenues by leveraging the RICOH Commercial and Industrial Printing Solutions portfolio inside of CRD, Creative Departments, Data Centers and In-Plant Print Operations. Heavy focus on Software Workflows and Professional Services is the cornerstone of this position. The SS must have a solid track record of sales in strategic or major accounts and a minimum of five years Commercial and Industrial Printing sales involvement or sales management experience. The SS will report directly to the Manager, Sales. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Meets or exceeds revenue and gross profit expectations by successfully integrating solutions into nonuser environments and builds loyal customer relationships that result in new, expanded and on- going business for Ricoh. * Maintains sustained sales activities. Responsible conducting and presenting benchmark analysis, discovery, demonstrations, proposals and value propositions related to the Commercial and Industrial Printing environments inside of account base. This involves applying a consultative approach to C level and IT contacts, using the RICOH Selling Process to analyze the customer's business communication requirements, and developing customized solutions for the Commercial and Industrial Printing space to exceed customer requirements. EPS is responsible for driving multiple relationships and pipeline development independently inside the list of accounts as well as working as a product expert for Ricoh's Commercial and Industrial Printing workflow and solutions sets via the Client Executive/Account Manager. * Maintains CRM System. Utilizes the CRM system to maintain a record of all activities inside of each account. This involves many varied tasks not limited to daily updates on account activities using the notes and history section, maintaining up-to-date and accurate records on account actions and identifying and recording competitive information on accounts. Full utilization of the account planning tools as well. * Updates calendar daily to include appointments and tasks for the assignment. Inspects information daily on accounts in Phase 123 pipeline. * Reviews leads, pending orders and lease upgrades, developing action plans to progress each cycle. * Inspects Client Executive/Account Manager forecasting for Commercial and Industrial Printing Opportunities. Inspects timely and accurate forecasts entered by sales reps on account assignment by way of Ricoh litmus test and CRM utilization. * Works with integrated team to identify and implement next steps in Phase 123 pipeline for each account. This includes itemizing current state in each account along with identifying next steps in progressing the sales cycle. Maintains 30 times monthly budget in phase 1pipeline, 20 times monthly budget in Phase 2 and 5 times monthly budget in Phase 3. These pipelines should be cleaned and updated each week inside of CRM tool. * Maintains KPI objectives.
