We are currently seeking a Print/Bindery Operator to work in our Print Services Department.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of the most complex clerical support duties within a functional group or team. Tasks may include one or more of the following:

  • Printing: Completes assignments of the highest technical complexity ranging from single and multicolor forms, bulletins, manuals and other printed material including documents requiring merge of covers, text, indexes and related items. Performs necessary equipment set-up and preparatory work. Operates bindery equipment such as folder, cutter, perforator, punches, collator, drill, stapler, padder, etc.

  • Word Processing: Prepares the most complex documents from various sources of written or dictated input which may include page layouts and charts. Enters corrections, revisions and proofreads output for accuracy and completeness.

  • Quality Control / Review: Reviews completed work prior to distribution to customer. Forwards items found not meeting standards to the appropriate employee for correction. Researches and tracks detected issues and provides feedback to Lead and / or management.

  • Other support activities: Filing, document assembly, data entry, etc.

  • Complies with appropriate company and / or regulatory guidelines (i.e., handling of checks, titles, other negotiable items, etc.).

  • Applies knowledge of department policies and procedures and utilizes broad understanding of the business and organization.

  • Provides guidance and assistance to lower level positions.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • 1 to 3 years related print experience.

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.

  • Must have experience with the following:

  • Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook

  • Microsoft Office

  • Internet Explorer

  • Google Chrome

VIEW JOBS 11/8/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-06T00:00 Key Accountabilities Client Experience * Foster relationships with printers and clients that you directly support * Attends any client meetings (press runs, pre-production) as needed to identify any potential production issues and make recommendations to resolve issues. * Promotes client print quality programs across vendor base. * Ensures accuracy and high quality performance in all Print Services client deliverables. * Data generated as a result of the specialists' evaluation is client facing * Client-facing role and will need to maintain direct client and printer relationships on an extended/on-going basis * Deliver technology, improve workflow and train our personnel and clients. * May include project-based activities as directed * Requires demonstrated pre-press and printing knowledge with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams including, Design, Marketing, Project Management, Packaging Engineering, and Sourcing as well as outside design and pre-press companies. Operational Excellence * Ensures accurate, consistent, and timely completion printed work, working closely with Production teams, and effectively using industry standard software, tools, and print techniques. * Performs assigned tasks within the overall Print Services workflow according to: o Work order specifications, o Industry and Schawk Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), o Schawk's high quality standards o The Print Services team and partnership philosophy o Will contribute to driving the vision and direction of the Print Services Team o The client's Brand guidelines and standards o User Acceptability Testing for internal/External platforms used in Print Services * Evaluate Press Characterizations and provides timely feedback and reports internally as required. * Meets quality standards at all times for all assigned deliverables and makes recommendations to Management for improvements in reports, tools, processes and assigned tasks. * Work with accounting as it relates to Print Quality Services and invoicing needs * Support PPM's and on-site personnel on technical related matters * Focus on innovation and technology related to our industry, including printing, software, hardware, and plate technology. * Experience managing multiple projects at once with varying priority levels * Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills * Excellent oral and written communication skills * Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision * Ability to work with established processes, yet deliver continuous improvements * Affinity to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and within tight deadline * Embraces change;
