We have multiple openings for operators due to growth. The plant is located in Baltimore, MD and Hart is offering relocation support for qualified candidates.Willing to train those who are passionate and motivated within the printing industry

Summary: Has the knowledge and ability to work safely while setting up and running a flexographic printing press. Capable of adjusting printing press speeds and tensions while registering/aligning printing plates. Able to mount plates and cylinders onto the printing press, load raw material rolls, fill and monitor inks while keeping area safe, clean and organized.

Essential Functions:

• Understanding and proper application of all safety rules, regulations and procedures including proper personal protective equipment and safe manufacturing practices
• Maintain all company health and housekeeping standards
• Review production order to determine proper raw materials needed for production
• Makes recommendations and works with Operations Manager to ensure machinery and equipment are in safe and efficient operating condition
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to read and understand work orders or schedule to determine product specifications and materials requirements
• Verifies substrate, ink, plate and cylinder sizes meet specifications
• Consistent monitoring and evaluation the quality of printed material is in conformance to specifications and artwork
• Follows production schedule while being proactive in making recommendation to changes in the schedule
• Meets or exceeds performance goals to ensure scheduled attainment
• Monitors, identifies and communicates quality, maintenance, raw material and other related issues that could or have negatively impacted line performance
• Provides cross-training to other employees ensuring department personnel can obtain skills and knowledge necessary to successfully perform duties and responsibilities of job
• Executes and ensures adherence to Company personnel policies and procedures
• Inputs all necessary information into the Radius ERP system to help monitor production
• Effectively utilizes the Radius ERP system to obtain necessary information to run production orders
• Performs other related work as required, including:
• Making corrections to avoid expensive losses of paper and ink.
• Change plates, sleeves/cylinders, anilox and ink chambers
• Adjust ink fountain flow rates
• Adjust equipment controls to regulate flow of production materials
• Load substrate onto equipment, web through press cylinders, adjusting unwind/rewind tension controls and aligning printing plates as needed
• Clean printing unit cylinders, plates and ink fountains at the completion of each press run or immediately upon an ink spill
• Supports and promotes SQF process
• Monitor environmental factors, such as humidity and temperature, that may impact equipment performance and make necessary adjustments

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High school education with post-secondary technical studies or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Technical degree preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of converting industry

• Ability to lift ~50 lbs. without assistance and on a frequent basis
