Exciting opportunity in Raytheon Space and Airborne System's (SAS) as a Principal Multi-Disciplined Engineer / Software Engineer based in North Texas (McKinney), having significant impact, recognition, and growth in the organization.

The Principal Multi-Disciplined Engineer will have software development experience as well as test hardware and will work in as a lead in a team environment on behalf of the Hardware Engineering Center (HWEC) Antenna and Microwave Products (AMP) department supporting multiple production programs and new test software development efforts. The engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and integration of software solutions utilizing test systems hardware for RF test engineering applications. Solutions include engineering lab software, production/factory test for microwave modules and AESAs, range testing (antenna, radar, radome), and test database applications/data analysis.

Required Skills:


  • Minimum 8 yrs. experience

  • Automated Test Equipment (ATE) development

  • Language skills : C, C#, C++, Visual Basic, .NET, LabVIEW, LabWindows CVI, MATLAB

  • Operating Systems : Windows

  • Objected Oriented tool development experience

  • Networking and Interfaces development to hardware

  • Experience with Configuration Management tools

  • RF Test Hardware (Network Analyzers)

  • NSI Software acquisition and control

  • Orbit F/R Software acquisition and control

  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.

  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to access US only data systems.

  • Synergy CM tool

  • Databases : Oracle

  • RF measurements including PC (GPIB/LAN) controlled test equipment

SUMMARY OF POSITION Under direction of the Development Engineering Manager, the Civil Engineer II (Development) has primary responsibility for managing tasks associated with development review including but not limited to: subdivision and commercial plan reviews, preparing, designing and planning public services and/or Capital Improvement Projects, attending Development Review Committee meetings, conducting meetings with consultants, engineers, and homeowners, obtaining easements, project budgeting, construction management, cost estimates, and interviewing prospective employees. Essential Functions/Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Complies with all city policies and procedures, including those defined in the City of McKinney Employee Handbook * Adheres to assigned work schedule as outlined in city and department attendance policies and procedures. * Communicates effectively both orally and in writing. * Offer flexibility and adaptability, especially during times of change * Develops or reviews plans, specifications, cost estimates and contracts for major projects. Conducts site inspections during all stages of construction projects. * Reviews subdivision, commercial plans/plats and Capital Improvement Program plans for approval, verifies right-of-way dedications, drainage requirements, parking, paving and other improvements as per local, state and federal standards and codes. * Acts a liaison with consultants and external engineers. * May supervise contractors and/or consultants. * Develops and updates design manuals within their specified discipline. * Responds to public inquiries and inter-departmental inquiries relating to departmental functions. * Presents information and provides recommendations to City Council and Administration with respect to engineering-related projects. * Prepares ordinances and resolutions for City Council action. * Updates and revises City geographic data as needed, including but not limited to base maps, subdivision locations, right-of-way dedications and utility easements. * Confers with the supervisor and other departmental professionals and comprises various forms of written documentation in acquiring information for accurately performing essential functions such as civil engineering drawings, final plats, standard construction specifications and zoning maps. * Utilizes a variety of technological equipment and modem software applications in the performance of functions such as computers, CAD programs, stations and plotters. * Provides technical direction, training and support to other divisional professional and other City departments. * Performs research and routine clerical functions when necessary. * Performs as the supervisor in his/her absence. Required Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering; supplemented by five (5) years previous experience required, six (6) years with supervisory experience preferred in Civil/Municipal Engineering and/or training that includes engineering drafting and design; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Texas Professional Engineer license (or ability to obtain within 6 months) required. Any work related experience resulting in acceptable proficiency levels in the above Minimum Qualifications is an acceptable substitute for the above specified education and experience requirements. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT * Must pass a drug screen and background check. * Must have Class C Texas Driver's License Physical Demands/Supplemental PHYSICAL DEMANDS Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds).
