Swift is looking for a Facility Technician to provide leadership and operational oversight for all infrastructure and maintenance for our local campuses. Facility Technician will serve as senior deputy undertaking the responsibilities related to the management of the department such as VAF, CCF approvals, on-site decision making, works distribution and meeting representations.

The role also performs and co-ordinates a team of technicians in the execution and monitoring of reactive and preventive maintenance activities to ensure the continuous and reliable functioning of the facilities environment/operations.

This is a full time on-site role in Culpepper, VA.

Requirements

  • 10 years experience in preventive maintenance, of which 6 years in a supervisory role.

  • Seasoned electrician with data center experience

  • Hands on experience with UPS Generators

  • Project management / contractor management experience

  • Mechanical background (Chillers, downflow units, A/C, heating)

  • Access control / intrusion detection knowledge (CCTV)

Key Responsibilities

  • Technician will serve as senior deputy undertaking the responsibilities related to the management of the department including, but not limited to approvals, on-site decision making, works distribution, meeting representations, acting as delegate in manager's absence.

  • The role also performs and co-ordinates a team of technicians in the execution and monitoring of reactive and preventive maintenance activities and projects to ensure the continuous and reliable functioning of the facilities environment/operations.

  • Co-lead with manager in the supervision and scheduling of technicians / contractors tasks within agreed service level. Coordinate the review process of operational/preventive maintenance activities.

  • Co-manage all technical Safety related matters.

  • Prepare weekly reports and input for the monthly report. Report monthly readings and update consumptions spreadsheets.

  • Be the driver in identifying areas for improvement to processes and service levels. Co-lead with the manager in assuring that the FMD team is advised at all times of Swift communications and events that relate to maintaining 100% availability/FNA.

  • Participate in Facilities Excellence streams and lead activities in presentation preparations.

  • Lead activities related to facilities operating processes and procedures.

  • Lead preventive maintenance and repairs process and coordinate with the manager in keeping operational documentation current.

  • Coordinate all technical problems in order to produce a reliable, safe and secure operating environment. Support management in analyzing effectiveness of labor assignments and work distribution.

  • Participate in all local facilities projects and lead their implementation. Contribute to the motivation and development of team members through analyzing development needs and implementing development actions.

  • Coordinate integrated facilities management systems and equipment.

  • Act as point of escalation for complex problems within the team, providing technical advice and support to other team members.

The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position in Virginia is MINIMUM 120,200.00 to MAXIMUM 189,800 USD. Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
