Northrop Grumman Space Systems - Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Principal/Sr Principal Modeling & Simulations Systems Engineer for the Ground Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) program located in Huntsville, AL. This position will be onsite.
The Principal/Sr Principal Modeling & Simulations Systems Engineer will join the Component Engineering Modeling and Simulation (CE M&S) team.
Technical Performance responsibilities include:
Candidate will support development, maintenance and refinement of models in an Agile team environment
Collaborate with other systems engineers to program groundbreaking advances against emerging threats and capabilities
Provide technical expertise at customer meetings
Break down larger tasks into two week subtasks
Appropriately estimate size of tasks
Leadership responsibilities include:
Manage overall task schedules, subtask schedules, and assignments
Status leadership on task progress
This requisition may be filled as either a Principal Systems Engineer or a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer.
Principal Systems Engineer requires 5 Years of relevant experience with Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology or Math (STEM) discipline; 3 Years with Master's degree; 0 Years with PhD.
Sr. Principal Systems Engineer requires 9 Years of relevant experience with Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology or Math (STEM) discipline; 7 Years with Master's degree; 4 Years with PhD.
Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical personnel
High proficiency in technical problem solving
Proficiency in Python, C++, Matlab, or other languages
Excellent interpersonal and team collaboration skills
Proven track record of successfully integrating problem solutions into a larger system
Capable of performing assigned tasks with very little or no direction
Capability to read and understand the Ada programming language
Active secret clearance required
Demonstrated experience in modeling and simulation
Dedicated to quality model development
Exposure to the Agile Development Lifecycle
Demonstrated communications skills with armed services and government customers
Salary Range: $92,200.00 - $138,400.00Salary Range 2: $114,300.00 - $171,500.00
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
