Job Summary:

In the role as Product Owner you understand the vision of our product from the point of our stakeholders (e.g. end users, implementation consultants). On a day-to-day this includes writing Epics and User Stories, scoping estimates, reporting on return on investment, completing trade-off analysis and make decisions to stay on track toward business deliverable commitments. In addition, you demo product functionalities for customers and senior leadership.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Act as a Product Owner for new functionality, listening to customers, sales teams, guiding software development teams in their developments.

  • Demo product functionality for customers and senior leadership.

  • Assess value, develop use cases, and prioritize epics and user stories to ensure best use of resources alignment with our product vision.

  • Participate in the refinement and planning of the work done by your Scrum Team.

  • Design functionality in a way that it complies with the Nasdaq BWise architectural standards, keeping the design simple and maintainable.

  • Support the Scrum Team in solving customer incidents.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of the development processes product.

Job Specification:

  • Bachelor/Master degree required (e.g. Master of Science in Information Management).

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience and good understanding of software development in one or more of the following areas is preferred: Agile, SCRUM, Business Intelligence, Implementation concepts and change management, technical IT subjects and products.

  • Knowledge and basic level of understanding of business concepts and processes in one or more of the following areas is preferred: risk management, compliance, governance, internal control, internal audit, information security.

  • Must have experience with databases (SQL, Oracle) and SQL query language.

  • Fluent in English, excellent verbal and communication skills.

  • A team player with a flexible and positive attitude.

  • Analytical, independent and results-oriented personality.

  • Requires overall 11+ years related experience

This position will have Agile Product Owner responsibilities for elements of the Building Financial Foundation (BFF) portfolio sponsored work and monthly production responsibilities to ensure the readiness of tools for Finance and Accounting users. Work will include, but may not be limited to, Hyperion Suite of tools, Essbase cubes and interfaces with other financial applications inclusive of FAH (Financial Accounting Hub, FIRM (Financial Information Reporting Mart) and Finance Models. What is an Agile Product Owner? An Agile Product Owner is the business lead on the agile team who creates the backlog of requirements (stories) and works with the business to prioritize the stories into sprints. Responsibilities: Manage monthly production responsibilities for Hyperion Planning tools. * Manage Mapping updates between upstream systems and planning tools. * Manage data load processes: proactively communicate with the business and IT partners as issues arise and partner with IT to support timely resolution. * Manage Metadata Cycle monthly. * Represent Hyperion tool needs / updates related to COA Governance requests. * Support user questions / needs as a tool suite SME. * Support user training / onboarding and skills enhancement. Understand business needs and translate those needs into Agile Stories for enhancements to the Hyperion suite of tools. Work with the business and the scrum team to prioritize stories and organize the teams work into sprints. Projects are tactical seeking to complete tasks and deliverables on time and within budget. * Serve as a product owner for elements of the Hyperion or related BFF project work. * Utilize Agile tools and resources to manage and track work. * Collaborate with business and technical subject matter experts to understand needs, support design, test and deploy capabilities. * Act as a Lead Partner with matrix partners and project management throughout all phases of the project to ensure deliverables meet scope, schedule, and quality expectations * Utilize established forums to report status of key tasks and deliverables Qualifications * 8 or more years of Cigna experience preferred; experience preferred in Finance, Accounting, Finance IT or Underwriting organizations. * Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent related business experience * Detailed oriented with proven ability to prioritize multiple tasks * Knowledge of the interdependencies among business units and matrix partners * Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills * Ability to learn new concepts quickly * Excellent communication skills * Team player with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills * Proven ability to: * Deliver excellent customer service * Influence in a matrix environment * Foster collaboration, value others perspectives, gain support and buy-in * Work comfortably with management and functional leaders * Work under pressure in a fast paced, highly matrixed environment * Project management experience a plus * Essbase and Hyperion Experience is a plus About Cigna Cigna Corporation (NYSE: CI) is a global health service company dedicated to improving the health, well-being and peace of mind of those we serve.
