Zumwalt Total Ship Computing Environment Infrastructure (TSCEI) Principal Tech Support Engineer
As the TSCEI Principal Tech Support Engineer you will apply your experience and technical expertise in the planning, integration, test and activation of the TSCEI systems, and will perform Stage Testing for all Raytheon Technologies and non-Raytheon Technologies equipment connected to the TSCEI network. Shipboard testing will be conducted on-site at San Diego CA, during ship systems activation, test and trial periods.
The Principal Tech Support Engineer will function as a technical member of the Shipboard Test Team staff interacting with a variety of stakeholders including System Integration and System Test Management, Navy Agencies, Navy Labs, Zumwalt Prime Contractors and selected major vendors. This position will require some travel and participation in programmatic and technical reviews.
In this position, the candidate is responsible for:
Upkeep and management of the TSCEI network aboard Zumwalt Class vessels.
Supervising a team of highly skilled Network Technician and Engineers.
Perform equipment installation, checkout, testing, reporting of results, SW, HW and FW upgrades and maintaining records as required
Collaborate with Zumwalt shipbuilders and their vendors.
Provide regular internal status reports to the System Test Team Leads
Provide regular external status updates to Navy Leadership and other Prime Contractors
Establish and maintain relationships with the Engineering and Production Test representatives
Provide underway system support for at sea events
Demonstrate equipment to Board of Inspectors and Survey (INSURV)
Interact with the Shipbuilder, SUPSHIP, Ship's Force and outside venders on TSCE issues and concerns.
Ability to perform normal climbing and lifting associated with shipboard electronic work
Minimum eight (8) years' experience with naval combatant systems, hardware / software integration, activation and test
To include hands-on experience working with electrical and computer systems design, integration and test in either a lab or field setting
Knowledge of both Analog and Digital signal processing
Extensive experience with signal verification activities, test procedure development and test conduct
Network installations and maintenance
Proven track record of completed integration events
Customer focus and collaboration skills
Proven Multi-tasking skills - close out projects completely
Ability to safely conduct testing in a shipboard environment
Technical writing/presentation skills
Prior experience working with Military and Commercial Marine control systems
US Naval Veteran with surface shipboard operational experience
Prior experience/working knowledge of Military and/or Commercial vessel unique signal applications (e.g., intrusion alarms, heat, smoke & flooding signals)
Familiarity with Zumwalt Ship networks and equipment
Computer, Network and Fiber Optic Certifications Test tools (hardware and software)
Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies
UNIX and Microsoft Windows platforms
Information System Networks experience
Factory Test experience
Test Equipment Development experience
Experience presenting to internal & external customers utilizing PowerPoint or other presentation tools
Ability to perform work on board a naval vessel under construction and during trial periods at sea. Prior experience working in this environment would be an advantage.

Required Education:This position requires 8 years of work related experience in lieu of a BS in a relevant STEM field of study.
