Northrop Grumman Technology Services has an opening for a Principal Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Sierra Vista, AZ.

Your Essential Functions:

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.

Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from accredited university and 5 years of systems engineering experience or Master's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from accredited university and 3 years of systems engineering experience.

In Scope DoD Secret Clearance or higher and the ability to maintain it through employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prefer Engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Engineering Physics.

  • Master's Degree

  • Direct Systems Engineering experience

  • Secret clearance

  • Strong technical writing and communication skills. Flexibility to evolving program environments.

The duties of this position will include, but are not limited to performing technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. This senior position ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. The chosen applicant will perform functional analyses, timeline analyses, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. Basic Qualifications: * 9 Years experience with Bachelors in Science in STEM; 7 Years with Masters in STEM; 4 Years with PhD in STEM. * At least 5 years of relevant experience in general avionics * At least 5 years in aircraft subsystems (e.g., propulsion, flight control, electrical power distribution) * Demonstrated knowledge of embedded software * An active Interim Secret Security Clearance Preferred Qualifications: * Development and operation of an Army Ground Control Station (GCS), to include the integration of command and control * Familiarity with the integration of military datalink to include TCDL and/or SATCOM for command and control applications * Definition and integration of GPS and navigation on aircraft Northrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
