We design and develop electronic and electro-mechanical or systems-orientated products, conduct feasibility studies on engineering proposals and prepare installation, operation and maintenance specifications and instructions. Key Responsibilities

  • Validate system design and test functionality of newly developed VxBlock systems/subsystems.

  • Verify VxBlock key performance indicators meet design specifications.

  • Design and document new test cases within our defined framework to ensure quality of the Vxblock product lines.

  • Review and provide corrective feedback for all VxBlock published documentation - Architecture Overviews, Build Guides, Admin Guides, Upgrade Guides.

  • Matrixed responsibilities with other Engineering organizations. Represents the organization on projects.

  • Communicates project status and escalates issues to management.

Essential Requirements

  • Prior experience with test and validation tools/processes.

  • Strong working knowledge/prior testing experience in the following:

  • Cisco UCS platforms

  • VMware virtualization

  • Cisco networking

  • Dell EMC storage solutions

  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, time management, and multi-tasking abilities.

  • Global mind set and ability to develop strong cross-functional relationships.

  • Degree in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering or equivalent work experience.

Desirable Requirements

  • 5+ years experience with converged infrastructure systems.

  • Familiarity with fundamental data center infrastructure, applications, services and tools.

  • Expertise with scripting languages, e.g. Perl, Python, shell

  • Experience in Agile development methodologies.

  • Working knowledge/prior testing experience in the following:

  • Microsoft Hyper-V

  • Linux KVM

Responsible for engineering and implementing complex enterprise infrastructure projects. Capable of assessing current and future needs, in order to propose appropriate technologies and services to enable the enterprise to meet tactical and strategic objectives. Proficient in resolving escalated issues, sharing knowledge, and coaching other engineers to resolutions. Provide technical services and support for the following areas: carrier communication, call manager, IVR, middleware routing applications, hardware, recording, reporting, video, phone and fax. Minimum Experience Required * 5-7+ Years of Experience * Sustain the necessary voice and video functionality by monitoring telecom infrastructure. * Proven experience with complex voice environments including call routing, transport protocols, phone management and general telephony management best practices. * Proven experience with telecom planning including design, upgrading, maintaining and monitoring using telecom management best practices. * Advanced knowledge of call routing relationships between call managers, IVR servers, media servers and middleware application including protocols, setup and configuration * Collaborate with IT and Business Teams to ensure smooth and reliable operation of networks and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes * Collaborate with third-party service providers to ensure high availability and stability of network and security infrastructure is maintained. * Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions. * Conduct research on telecom, voice and video products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts. * Gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing telecom and voice environments; develop and implement strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems. * Create and maintain documentation as it relates to telephony configuration, mapping, and processes.
