The Role

We are looking for a Principal Systems Analyst who will play a key role on our new scrum team supporting various digital initiatives in Account and Customer Experience product area. You will collaborate with business and technology partners to help design, build, test, and deliver exciting new features and enterprise capabilities. You are committed to developing your own expertise and knowledge to bring the latest thinking to your role and empower others.
Your Responsibilities Include
Working closely with business partners to understand project objectives, use cases and requirements
Assisting in defining project scope/backlog
Partnering with solution and infrastructure architects, scrum masters, user experience designers, developers, and quality assurance engineers in proposing and aligning on end-to-end technology solutions
Diagramming business processes and system workflows
Documenting specifications describing solutions
Evaluating designs of existing systems to judge their functionality, effectiveness, reliability, performance, usage, maintainability, and cost of ownership
Participating in research to identify effective new solutions design
Usage of tools like postman, Insomnia to run API requests and analyze responses.
Recommending systems design to achieve requirements
Tracing specifications to requirements to objectives
Participating in systems triage of defects
Working understanding of QA Automation.
Supervising and advising activities of other team members when required
Working with a variety of individuals and groups, both in person and globally, in a constructive and collaborative manner
Solving issues and working through ambiguous situations by making timely decisions based on facts, knowledge, experience, and judgment
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, etc. or equivalent work experience
7+ years of strong systems analysis experience with a focus in financial services / brokerage applications
Experience in software development in an Agile delivery environment and deep understanding of the software life cycle stages
Keen eye for engineering excellence, innovation, and empowerment
Proficiency and eagerness to learn new domains
Adept at analyzing existing systems and applications to advise design of new, modern digital products
Ability to lead formal and informal presentations in various settings; one-on-one, small, and large groups, with peers, and senior management
Ability to communicate effectively with and to influence team members and external groups
Ability to effectively navigate the organization to achieve outcomes
Proven ability to work on multiple efforts simultaneously
Strong investigation and problem-solving skills
Desire to be detailed, highly adaptive and committed to quality
Strong analytical skills to research and review existing systems and recommend designs
Effectively communicate technical concepts to the internal partners inside and outside of the Scrum team
Experience working with design and testing of APIs, database/SQL, Cloud environments

Fidelity's working model blends the best of working offsite with maximizing time together in person to meet associate and business needs. Currently, most hybrid roles require associates to work onsite all business days of one assigned week per four-week period (beginning in September 2024, the requirement will be two full assigned weeks).
