About this role

In this role, you will work as part of a multidisciplined team during the development phase of complex systems that require critical safety controls. The individual should have 9 years of relevant industry experience and will be responsible for developing system safety architectures and oversight of implementation at both system and subsystem levels, while assuring compliance with other key system performance requirements. This position requires that the candidate be a US citizen with or capable of receiving a secret level security clearance.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to conduct system modeling, operations analysis, and requirements decomposition in support of system design. Experience in system level trade analysis of different design options including estimated development and operational costs

  • Ability to oversee development of system requirements specification for overall system including verification plans

  • Experience with one or more of the DODAF Architectural Framework, Model Based Systems Engineering (SysML), DOORS, and Matlab/Simulink

  • Experience with MIL-STD-882E (System Safety is required)

  • Experience in the following areas are a plus

o AOP-52 (S/W Safety Design and Assessment of munition related computing systems)

o Army Fuze Safety Review Board (AFSRB) and Ignition System Safety Review Board (ISSRB)

o MIL-STD-1316F, MIL-STD-1911A, and MIL-STD-1901A

The Digital Platform team requires a Senior System Application Engineer with a focus on Modelling. In this role you will work across product development teams, applications and software groups and directly with customers, to drive and implement procedures that create customer-facing product and application-level models. The main thrust of the modeling effort is to create high-level models to match the behavior and functionality of both digital and mixed-signal devices and signal chains. Applicants must thrive in a team setting and be able to work across the organization to be successful. This position is highly customer-focused and includes direct interaction with existing and potential customers across varied markets and applications. Hands-on role & execution focused. Qualified applicants will approach the position from a system applications view, be familiar with industry-standard model and simulation tools, and have demonstrated experience modeling mixed-signal systems with Simulink, MATLAB and Python. Working knowledge of SystemVerilog and SystemC is an advantage in this role. Ability to prioritize well, communicate clearly, have a consistent track record of delivery and excellent system modeling skills. Creative engineering balanced with high quality and a customer focus.
