The role will be focused on the APV Strategic Plan & key initiatives as well as be responsible for leading the APV market models and portfolio analytics. Partners across the business and global regions to ensure cross-functional alignment and operationalizing the strategies through AOP and departmental objectives.

Manage APV Strategic Planning process by collaborating with APV businesses strategy and finance leads to ensure that APV fulfills Corporate and CVG deliverables. Support the development of a cohesive strategy to diversify and grow APV.

Develop the architecture and processes to align market modeling, portfolio management, investor relations, market research and competitive intelligence activities across APV. Lead market analytics by incorporating market research, market models as well as financial and business analytics from the marketing and finance teams. Coordinate competitive intelligence activities including competitive strategy, competitive monitoring, and facilitating war-gaming.

Create portfolio analytics and strategies to balance internal innovation and external business development opportunities to meet the global business objectives. Drive adoption and implementation of APV initiatives around globalization, economic value and therapy innovation across the APV portfolio. Partner with the Emerging Technologies group to develop business cases for disruptive therapies, services and business models to enhance the overall innovation pipeline. Collaborate across CVG and pan-Medtronic on novel growth strategies.

Support APV business development projects including mergers and acquisitions, strategic alliances, distribution agreements, joint ventures, minority investments, technology licenses and divestitures. Support the development of financial and operational models utilized to analyze the strategic and operational fit and economics of opportunities in partnership with the GM senior staff, including the BD&S lead for each business. Support due diligence, cross-functional assessments, integration planning activities, and execution of BD projects.

  • Foster development of the strategic direction for the business, working in close collaboration with other executives in developing strategic and tactical plans to achieve long-term growth objectives. Partner across the business and global regions to support APV Strategic Plans & lead key initiatives.

  • Identify new growth opportunities by monitoring markets, industries and organizations of potential strategic interest. Support analysis and evaluation of new opportunities by partnering with emerging technologies.

  • Build strong collaborative relationships across the enterprise to identify strategic opportunities and ensure alignment

  • Effectively manage cross-functional teams to deliver against project deliverable and timelines

  • Own Market Models and Portfolio Analytics for APV Business

  • Lead Competitive Intelligence function for APV Business

  • Support analysis and evaluation of novel economic value and value-based solutions across APV

  • Present recommendations to senior executives

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Engineering, Health Science, Finance or Business

  • 7+ years of marketing, strategy, business or finance experience with a Bachelor's Degree; or, 5+ years of marketing, strategy, business or finance experience with a Master's Degree

Nice to Have:

  • MBA

  • 5+ years of Medical Device/Biotech/Pharma industry or analyst experience.

  • Experience with business planning and project management.

  • Demonstrated competence in identifying and understanding healthcare and industry trends.

Assist in developing strategy for asset allocation and risk mitigation. Lead and assess the creditworthiness of the Bank's credit portfolio risk, evaluate portfolio performance, and conduct portfolio reviews across distinct asset classes (Commercial & Consumer): * Consumer: Residential Mortgage * Commercial: C&I, CRE * Specialty Finance: Floor Financing, Equipment Finance This position focuses on monitoring portfolio risk by reviewing assigned business lending units on a periodic basis, and communicating changing trends in credit risk to management. Areas of emphasis for assigned lines of business include analyzing and communicating adherence to credit policy; regularly analyzing and communicating concentration limits and recommending risk trigger thresholds as market conditions change; is responsible for directing TCF Bank's enterprise-wide stress testing initiatives, executing stress tests in collaboration with the business, developing and administering the stress testing policies and guidelines, and producing results required and other stress tests. Major Areas of Accountability Portfolio Management / Reporting * For assigned lines of business, provide prudent credit risk management through monitoring of the portfolio composition, large dollar borrowers, industry analysis, credit quality metrics, trend analysis and sensitivity analysis with respect to organizational risk. * Assist where required with Board of Director, executive management, Enterprise Risk Management and line of business reporting. * Participate in evaluating and introducing new products and businesses. * Work in conjunction with assigned lines of business to establish, implement and monitor specific front end guidance parameters for adherence by the respective businesses. * Work with Model Development, ALLL, Credit/ UW teams and the Business Unit by applying subject matter expertise to compare/contrast financial projections to prior economic cycles.
