Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Network Engineer- 4G/5G Core Engineer based out of San Diego, CA.

What You'll get to Do:

Primary role will be to configure core network elements. We are seeking candidates with experience configuring a 4G Evolved Packet Core (EPC), Policy Control Functions (PCF), IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS), Home Subscriber Service (HSS), Serving and PDN Gateways (S/PGs), and Mobility Management Entity (MME).

This position may be filled at a higher grade based on the requirements below.

This position may be filled as a Principal or Sr. Principal Network Engineer.

Basic Qualifications Principal Network Engineer:

Bachelor of Science in STEM field with 5 years of relevant experience; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Basic Qualifications Sr. Principal Network Engineer:

Bachelor of Science in STEM field with 5 years of relevant experience; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Basic Qualifications Principal/ Sr. Principal Network Engineer:

Candidate should have a strong network engineering background and/or relevant and applicable certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE).

Candidate should have strong background and direct experience with network architecture design and systems integration.

Experience is required, for this position, in all or some of the following technologies:

  • 4G Evolved Packet Core (EPC)
  • Policy Control Functions (PCF)
  • IP Multimedia Sybsystems (IMS)
  • Home Subscriber Service (HSS)
  • Serving and PDN Gateways (S/PGs)
  • Mobility Management Entity (MME)

Preferred Qualifications:

Any experience with 5G cellular virtualization, strong Linux skills, any virtualization skills in addition to those listed is a plus.
