The Payload and Ground Systems organization within the Northrop Grumman Space Systems pushes the boundaries of innovation, redefines engineering capabilities, and drives advances in various sciences. Northrop Grumman Space Systems Sector is seeking a Principal (Level 3) or Sr. Principal (Level 4) Embedded Software Engineer to join our team in Azusa, CA.

Embedded engineer will have the opportunity to design, develop, operate and maintain software and firmware components and computing systems software to be applied to and integrated with engineering, scientific and manufacturing requirements. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures and tools throughout the system development life cycle. Interfaces with customers, suppliers, application users and other technical and support personnel.

Basic Qualifications:(Level 3)

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) & 5 years of experience with embedded software design, development, and implementation, OR a Master's Degree in a STEM field and 3 years of experience with embedded software design, development, and implementation

  • Strong real-time programming skills with high level programming languages

  • Active & Current DoD Secret Clearance must be held and maintained. U.S. Citizenship is required.

Basic Qualifications:(Level 4)

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) & 9 years of experience with embedded software design, development, and implementation, OR a Master's Degree in a STEM field and 7 years of experience with embedded software design, development, and implementation

  • Strong real-time programming skills with high level programming languages

  • Active & Current DoD Secret Clearance must be held and maintained. U.S. Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics)

  • Experience with C++ programming language

  • Experience with Python programming language

  • Experience with VxWorks

  • Experience as a technical lead in an Integrated Product Team environment

  • Experience with software design and UML modeling tools

  • Experience with Spacecraft-to-Payload software interface

  • Experience with Ground-to-Space software interface

  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance with ability to acquire SCI Access

Salary Range: $101,200.00 - $188,300.00Salary Range 2: $0.00 - $0.00

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. Northrop Grumman's Space Systems Sector out of Azusa, CA is hiring for a Principal (Level 3) / Sr. Principal (Level 4) Systems Test Engineer to join our Test Engineering division. This position will support our strategic force programs under our payload and group systems team. Candidate will be familiar with reviewing system requirements and creating test plans and procedures based on those requirements. The engineer will perform electrical integration, ambient functional tests and system performance tests (in a thermal vacuum environment). The engineer will generate scripts (automation) for functional and system performance testing. In the course of testing, you will be involved in troubleshooting HW/SW issues, and provide communication throughout the team through status reports. The selected candidate will conduct customer presentations such as Test Readiness Reviews, Data Reviews, and will write test reports at the end of testing. The ideal candidate will need to support multiple shifts during 24/7 test events and familiar with test planning, development, and execution of test and equipment, procedure development and product verification/validation.
