Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) currently seeks to fill a multidisciplinary role in the Engineering, Sciences & Technology (ES&T) Central Region Hardware Engineering matrix. Huntsville, AL-area. NGMS-ES&T provides integration design solutions for land, sea and mobile C4ISR systems. The qualified applicant will be responsible for supporting a team of approximately 75 engineers and staff in an array of technical design-related areas.

Anticipated responsibilities

    • 50% CAD design, drawing, and model checking across multiple programs
    • 20% Support development of common drawing practices and techniques
    • 20% Maintain database of common components and approved vendors
    • 10% Education/Training of personnel to ensure use of correct design formats and techniques

This requisition may be filled at either a Principal or Sr Principal level position.

Basic Qualifications for Principal Electrical Draftman:

High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience

Basic Qualifications for a Sr Principal Draftsman:

High School diploma or equivalent and 6 years additional education and/or related experience

    • Minimum 4-6 years of experience designing or checking electrical parts and assemblies and drawings
    • Strong understanding of drafting and modeling standards in accordance with ASME Y14.xxx standards
    • Strong understanding of CAD and product data structure, configuration management practices, technical data packages IAW MIL-DTL-31000, engineering change management practices, and Bills of Material
    • Direct experience with AutoCAD and Visio and any PDM/PLM application
    • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
    • Associate's degree in a related technical discipline

Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with Model Based Design/Model Based Engineering
    • Experience specifically with SmarTeam and/or TeamCenter PLM systems
    • Strong understanding of cable design standards, practices and specs
    • Experience in communicating with Peers to ensure consistent design practices
    • Active security clearance, level Secret or higher

VIEW JOBS 5/18/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-08-16T00:00 The selected candidate will support the Short Range Air Defense (SHORAD) Integration Department's Counter-Rocket Artillery and Mortar (C-RAM) program as the Operations and Field Support Lead. The selected candidate will manage the Outside the CONtinental United States (OCONUS) C-RAM operations in Afghanistan and Egypt, and other countries in the U.S. Central Command Area of Operations. The candidate will assist the C-RAM OL-CCCIDAR Program Manager (PM) and other managers with the overall Program effort. Responsibilities include coordinating theater requirements for personnel and equipment with other Continental United States (CONUS) based managers and overseeing the daily operational and functional needs of the deployed OCONUS team. The Operations and Field Support Lead assists the PM in day-to-day tracking of Forward Operating Base (FOB) sustainment and FOB data collection in theater, participates in regular theater telecons, and assists in resolving personnel and equipment issues. In addition, the Operations and Field Support Lead works closely with the OCONUS Theater Operations team in planning and writing standard operating procedures for the deployed theater team; has direct responsibility for responding to the Government customers' defined schedules, schedule changes, and resolving conflicts with equipment and/or staffing issues. This individual assists in reporting accurate progress of FOB Team deployments and equipment installation activities to the Government customer. Additionally, the selected candidate will coordinate the preparation of proposals, including proposal work statement technical reponses and basis of estimates. HUNTSALMSTR Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in a related field and 10 years' experience; Master's degree in related field and 8 years of experience. An additional four years of experience will be considered in lieu of a College degree. * Strong management, supervisory, leadership, and communication skills * Strong program management background: ability to synchronize multiple schedules - including production, procurement, transportation and installation * Strong knowledge of military operations and procedures * Technically proficient in military communications and electronics systems * Willingness to work with and support the US military in a war zone/wartime environment * Able to qualify for business travel credit card * Experience with C-RAM, SHORAD or other military Command and Control (C2) systems * Ability to interface with both NG corporate and U.S. Government Department of Defense (DoD) customers senior staff Must have an active Secret Clearance Preferred Qualifications: Prior military experience as a field grade officer or Senior NCO * Prior overseas military or contractor management experience in a combat environment Northrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
