Your new responsibilities

Principal Special Technology Engineer

  • Research and development of functioning prototypes of state-of-the-art computer vision and light-based high accuracy indoor positioning systems.

  • This includes the design of algorithms, hardware controls, and software architecture, generating intellectual property, and improving performance of the systems.

  • Develop functioning prototypes of RF indoor positioning systems which includes research on propagation principles, wireless communications, software and hardware engineering, developing machine learning algorithms, and generating intellectual property.

  • R&D of conductive RF networks for IoT device testing.

  • R&D of thermal sensors and RF based occupancy detection including the design and implementation of novel algorithms.

  • Substantially exhibits the characteristics for Principal Scientist and is recognized as an expert of a specific field and is sought after as an advisor in that area.

  • Exerts significant influence on major organizational objectives. Has project or program leadership responsibilities.

What we look for

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. with 3+ years relevant experience or

  • MS with 7+ years relevant experience or

  • BS with 12+ years relevant experience.

Textron is seeking a dedicated and hungry applicant for a full-time, principal level electrical engineer to deliver high quality designs to the demands of our military customers. This opportunity presents design challenges in energy efficient, high-availability systems including a substantial amount of integration with cyber security architectures, communications equipment, developmental test capabilities, and product acceptance equipment. The candidate should be comfortable as a cognizant designer of complex printed circuit boards utilizing micro-processors & controllers, high efficiency power supply design, analog signal conditioning, sensors, and RF components. This position is requesting experience developing architectures, leading efforts to design, validate and transition hardware to production. There is also a desire that the applicant have experience designing systems to initiate ordnance under the rigor required by the joint military safety community. * Greater than 15 years of experience in Mixed Signal electronics design * Low Power design experience * Experience with designing High density printed circuit boards. * Experience designing initiation systems for ordnance * Comfortable with Orcad CIS Schematic Capture * Familiar with Allegro Layout Tools * RF Design Experience * Capable of developing simulations with LTSPICE * Architecture planning and system level design * VHDL or Verilog design experience * Active secret clearance required * Position requires US citizenship Education BS in Electrical Engineering or higher How We Care At Textron Systems, our talented people make us successful.
