Position summary

T-Mobile is America's supercharged Un-carrier, delivering an advanced 4G LTE and transformative nationwide 5G network that will offer reliable connectivity for all. Principal Software Engineers located in Bellevue, WA will architect, design, develop, and evangelize data security frameworks including data encryption for on-premises and cloud data platforms.

Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Architect and analyze security solutions for protecting customer sensitive data.

  • Design, develop, and implement data security frameworks and encryption solutions using Java.

  • Find solution for encryption of sensitive data in different platforms including on-premises, Hadoop, AWS, Azure, Snowflake for batch, streaming and API patterns.

  • Leverage features and best practices of cloud platform and data security frameworks.

  • Develop the Data Vault framework to work in conjunction with encryption solutions.

  • Responsible for threat analytics frameworks and data classification using machine learning.

  • Investigate and troubleshoot issues related to security and encryption, and provide solution.

  • Work with platform and DevOps teams to design security models and security test plans.

  • Work with the CICD, DevOps and AppSec teams to implement static and dynamic application security testing in the CICD pipeline.

  • Define future state technology for data security frameworks.

  • Mentor Infosec software engineers and drive the product roadmap.

  • Assist in implementing solutions at an enterprise level.

  • Act as consultant to the enterprise for data security.

  • Telecommuting permitted 100% of the time.

Skill requirements:

  • Designing, developing and implementing data security using Java Security and Java related technologies including J2EE, Spring and Hibernate, and utilizing working knowledge of various databases, including SQL, MongoDB, DB2, and Oracle.

  • Developing containerized apps using cloud technology, including Amazon Web Service (AWS) and OpenShift.

  • Leading developer teams for security and data transfer projects, as well as investigating and troubleshooting issues, and providing technical solutions for a team size of at least 3 software engineers, and collaborating with multiple business units enterprise wide.

  • Architecting, designing and developing microservice using REST webservice; and developing frameworks using Java.

  • Experience as technical lead for REST web service develop projects with using Java and SpringBoot, and deploying application to cloud platform (AWS) using CICD pipeline; and experience using Redis and RabbitMQ.

Experience and education requirements:

PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or its foreign equivalent or related, and 5 years of relevant work experience.

ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or its foreign equivalent or related, and 7 years of relevant work experience.

OTHER: Work hours: 40 hours/week. Washington Pay Range: $188,651.25 to $198,700.00/year.

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the state listed. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience.
