As part of the Interior Lighting Department, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our lighting products, ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance and reliability. Our team is dedicated to the development, certification, and sustainment of interior lighting products.

What YOU will do:

  • Architect software for cutting edge LED based interior lighting systems for commercial and business aviation.

  • Define, develop, and prototype software capabilities and interfaces.

  • Evolve the current software and system architecture to support customer defined requirements.

  • Provide software engineering expertise for bids on future development activities.

  • Guide the full software lifecycle including design, development, test, delivery, and maintenance.

  • Develop applications which will be used by manufacturing to produce LED lights.

What YOU will learn:

  • You will gain exposure to industry leading technologies.

  • You will learn color science and software color mixing approaches.

  • You will learn and work with equipment and tools used for photometric testing.

Education and Experience:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations, and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years of experience, or in the absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications YOU must have:

  • Demonstrated experience in full lifecycle software development process from requirements through verification and validation.

  • Demonstrated experience with Embedded programming in C

  • Demonstrated experience writing windows-based applications using C#

Skills we value:

  • Experience with C/C++, C#, Python.

  • Experience with microprocessors, microcontrollers, and/or DSPs.

  • Experience with Ethernet based communication protocol.

  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to multi-task amidst rapid changes

  • Understanding of revision control concepts and tools (e.g., Subversion, JIRA).

  • Experience with DOORS or a similar requirement management system.

The salary range for this role is 105,000 USD - 221,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
